Description
When an edge is fast and the test point is tiny, a soldered contact gives the cleanest path. The Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZMA10 tip provides that path. In this listing, “tip” means one solder-in tip cable for the R&S RT-ZM modular probe system. R&S rates it at over 16 GHz, with a rise time under 28 ps.

One cable, full system bandwidth
The 16 GHz figure matters because it matches the fastest amplifier in the range. For instance, R&S lists the RT-ZM160 amplifier at over 16 GHz and under 28 ps too. So the tip does not cap what that amplifier can show. Meanwhile, the slower amplifiers, from the RT-ZM15 to the RT-ZM130, also take RT-ZM tip modules.
Why order a single tip
A soldered tip tends to stay on one board. As a result, a lab that probes several boards can run short of tips. The Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZMA10 tip covers that gap: one spare, one new test point, or one swap for a worn cable. If you need several at once, R&S also offers the six-piece RT-ZMA10-6 set. For heat chamber work, the RT-ZMA11 adds an extended temperature range.
Where the Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZMA10 tip fits
High-speed digital design is the main home for this part. For example, signal integrity engineers can solder it close to a fast serial lane or a DDR data line. Telecom and network labs can also check clock edges on dense boards. In addition, MultiMode lets you switch between single-ended, differential and common-mode views while the tip stays on the board.
Handling advice
Plan the joint and the cable route before you heat the iron. Then keep the cable free of strain while you work. Finally, follow the manufacturer’s manual and ratings for handling and storage.

RT-ZMA10 questions
How does the RT-ZMA10 differ from the RT-ZMA10-6?
The RT-ZMA10 is one tip cable. By contrast, the RT-ZMA10-6 packs six solder-in tip cables in one set.
Does the tip hold back a 16 GHz amplifier?
Not by the R&S figures. The tip and the RT-ZM160 share the same over 16 GHz rating.
Is an amplifier part of the order?
No. The RT-ZMA10 is the tip cable only, so you also need an RT-ZM amplifier module and a scope.
