Effective date: 18 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SMK Vietnam (“SMK Vietnam”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit smkvietnam.com (the “Site”), read our content, contact us or use features of the Site. SMK Vietnam is a marketing and business-solutions firm located in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and is responsible for the personal data processed through this Site.

We process personal data in line with Vietnam’s Decree No. 13/2023/ND-CP on Personal Data Protection. Where visitors from the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom are concerned, we also aim to respect the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its UK equivalent. By using the Site, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.

1. Data We Collect

We collect only the data we need to run the Site, respond to you and improve our content. This includes:

  • Information you give us: when you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, the subject of your message and the message itself. If you contact us by phone or WhatsApp, we receive your phone number and whatever you choose to tell us.
  • Usage and device information: when you browse the Site, technical data is collected automatically, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, approximate location derived from your IP address, referring pages, pages viewed, time spent on pages and the date and time of your visit.
  • Cookie and similar identifiers: small files and identifiers placed on your device by us or by third-party services, as described below.
  • Store information: if you use the store features on our /store/ page, the information needed to process an order is collected by the relevant store service, as described in section 6.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data, such as data about health, religion, political opinions or financial account details, through the Site.

2. Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Some are necessary for the Site to work, while others help us understand how the Site is used or support advertising.

We use Google Analytics 4, connected through the Google Site Kit plugin for WordPress, to understand how visitors find and use the Site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as pages visited, session length, device type and approximate location. This information is reported to us in aggregated form and helps us decide which content to improve. Google processes this data under its own terms and privacy policy.

The Site runs on WordPress, which may set functional cookies, for example to remember preferences or keep store sessions working. Store components on the Site may also set cookies needed for a basket or checkout to function.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on offered by Google. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the Site work.

3. Advertising

We may display advertising on the Site through Google AdSense. When advertising is active:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this Site or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • Other third-party vendors or ad networks may also use cookies, web beacons or similar technologies to measure ad performance and serve ads.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by Google by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. If you opt out, you may still see ads, but they will be less tailored to your interests.

Where required by law in your region, such as for visitors in the EU, EEA or UK, we will ask for your consent before personalized advertising cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time.

4. Affiliate Links

Our Vietnamese-language Product Review section contains affiliate links provided through the ACCESSTRADE network. These links usually appear as short links on the shorten.asia domain and lead to product pages on Shopee. When you click an affiliate link, the affiliate network and the retailer may use cookies or similar identifiers to record that you came from our Site, so that a commission can be attributed to us if you make a purchase.

We do not receive your payment details or your full order information from these services. Any data you provide to Shopee or another retailer is handled under that retailer’s own privacy policy. For more information, please read our Affiliate Disclosure.

5. Contact Forms

Our contact form is provided by WPForms. When you submit it, the information you enter (name, email address, subject and message) is sent to us by email so that we can reply. We use this information only to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to discuss the services you asked about. We do not add you to a marketing mailing list unless you ask us to.

6. Store Features

The Site includes store functionality on the /store/ page, using WooCommerce and an Ecwid store widget. If you browse or make a purchase there, the data needed to process your order, such as contact and delivery details, may be collected and processed by those services and any payment provider they use. Payment details are handled by the payment provider, not stored by us on the Site. Please review the privacy information shown during checkout.

7. How We Use Your Data

We use personal data to:

  • respond to enquiries and communicate with you;
  • provide information about our services when you ask for it;
  • operate, maintain and secure the Site;
  • understand how the Site is used and improve our content and design;
  • display advertising and measure its performance, where advertising is active;
  • track affiliate referrals so that commissions can be attributed;
  • process store orders where applicable;
  • comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

8. Legal Bases for Processing

Under Decree 13/2023/ND-CP, we process personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you submit a form, accept cookies where a consent choice is offered, or otherwise choose to share data with us, and on the other grounds the Decree allows, such as performing a contract with you or complying with the law.

For visitors covered by the GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent (for example, for non-essential cookies and personalized advertising where required); the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering into one (for example, replying to a service enquiry or processing an order); our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the Site, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights; and compliance with legal obligations.

9. Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Service providers that help us run the Site, such as our hosting provider, WordPress plugins, WPForms, Google (for Analytics, Site Kit and AdSense), and the store services described above;
  • Affiliate networks and retailers, such as ACCESSTRADE and Shopee, to the extent needed to attribute referrals when you click an affiliate link;
  • Authorities where we are required to do so by law or to protect our legal rights.

These third parties process data under their own terms and privacy policies, and we encourage you to read them.

10. International Transfers

SMK Vietnam is based in Vietnam, and some of the service providers we use, including Google, may store or process data in other countries. Where personal data is transferred outside Vietnam, we follow the applicable requirements of Decree 13/2023/ND-CP. For visitors from the EU, EEA or UK, transfers rely on the safeguards offered by the providers concerned, such as standard contractual clauses, where applicable.

11. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Contact form messages and related correspondence are generally kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting business relationship, and then deleted or anonymized unless we need to keep them for legal reasons. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings available in Google Analytics. Cookies remain on your device for the period set by each cookie, unless you delete them earlier.

12. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorized access, including keeping the Site software updated, using encrypted connections, and limiting access to messages to the people who need them. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Your Rights

Under Decree 13/2023/ND-CP, you have rights over your personal data, including the right to:

  • be informed about how your data is processed;
  • give or withdraw your consent;
  • access your personal data;
  • request correction of your personal data;
  • request deletion of your personal data;
  • request restriction of processing;
  • request a copy of your data;
  • object to processing;
  • file a complaint, denunciation or lawsuit, and claim damages as provided by law;
  • protect yourself in accordance with the law.

If you are in the EU, EEA or UK, you generally have the right to access, rectify or erase your data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in section 16. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time limits set by applicable law.

14. Children

The Site is intended for business audiences and adult shoppers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Where changes are significant, we may also provide a more visible notice on the Site.
