Description
Small probe parts disappear first. After a few months on a busy power bench, the hook clip goes missing, a sleeve tears and the colour clips scatter. The Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZA20 spares bring an isolated probe back to a complete kit. R&S calls the part a replacement accessory set, and it names the RT-ZI10 and RT-ZI11 as the matching probes.
Inside the replacement set
The R&S accessory listing gives these items:
- A push-on hook clip and reference contact.
- A reference lead with crocodile clip.
- An insulating sleeve.
- Colour clips.
In the R&S product photo, you can see a grey hook tip, two small push-on hooks and two black sleeves. The photo also shows a black lead ending in a crocodile clip, plus a handful of coloured clips. Even so, confirm the quantities on your quote, since our source gives no part counts.
When the Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZA20 spares make sense
Order them when inspection finds a cracked sleeve, a weak clip or a missing reference lead. Damaged contacts or insulation should leave service, so a spare set keeps the probe in use instead. Labs that share probes between teams also keep a set in the drawer. That way, a missing hook clip does not stop a measurement on a deadline.
The colour clips help too. Mark each probe and the matching scope channel with one colour, and two engineers can read the same setup without tracing cables.
How it differs from the RT-ZA21
R&S also lists the RT-ZA21 for the same two probes. That part is an extension set with jaw clips, silicone leads and a 4 mm test probe. In short, the RT-ZA20 restores the standard parts, while the RT-ZA21 adds new ways to connect.
