Description
Ten clips go further than you might expect. On a crowded bench, every engineer borrows one, and soon none are left for the next job. The Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZA4 clips restock that drawer in one order. R&S describes the part as ten mini clips. These are small hook clips that hold a probe connection on a lead, a wire or a test loop.
Good targets for a mini clip
- Through-hole resistor and diode legs.
- Jumper wires and test loops on prototype boards.
- Header pins on a debug connector.
Each of these offers a lead that a hook can wrap around. So the probe hangs free while you power-cycle the board or swap a module. However, very fine IC legs may call for the smaller grabber style instead.
Mini or micro: RT-ZA4 versus RT-ZA5
R&S lists two clip sets for the same probes. The RT-ZA5 holds four micro clips, while the RT-ZA4 holds ten mini clips. Because our listing data gives no dimensions for either, compare the product photos and your own parts before you choose. Many benches simply keep both sets.
Probe list for the Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZA4 clips
The accessory listing names the RT-ZS10, RT-ZS10E, RT-ZS20 and RT-ZS30 single-ended probes. It also names the RT-ZD10, RT-ZD20 and RT-ZD30 differential probes. If your probe is not on that list, confirm the fit with Lost in HCM first.
The photo, plainly described
The R&S product photo shows ten black mini clips laid out in two rows. Each has a round barrel at the back, a forked grip in the middle and a thin black hook shaft at the front. No label appears on the clips.
