Description
Sometimes the node you need sits at high voltage but shares ground with the oscilloscope. In that case, a passive probe often does the job with less fuss than an active one. The Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZH11 probe is exactly that: a passive high-voltage probe with 400 MHz bandwidth and a 1000:1 divider. It has no amplifier, so it draws no power from the scope.

Passive or differential?
A passive probe measures against the scope’s ground reference. By contrast, the RT-ZHD models read between two floating inputs. So the RT-ZH11 fits when one side of your signal is ground, for example a low-side switch or a high-voltage supply output. For floating nodes, an RT-ZHD probe is the better tool.
Uses for the Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZH11 probe
The wide 400 MHz bandwidth helps with fast pulses as well as slower high-voltage events. For instance, R&D teams can capture the flyback spike on a transformer winding. Service engineers can also check high-voltage outputs on power units and pulse generators. In addition, production test teams can sample a ground-referenced supply rail during burn-in.
RT-ZH11 or RT-ZH10?
Rohde & Schwarz lists a sibling RT-ZH10 with 400 MHz bandwidth and 100:1 attenuation. Therefore, the RT-ZH11 suits larger signals, while the RT-ZH10 gives more on-screen detail at lower levels.
About the photo and the kit
The product photo shows the probe with clips, hooks and colored marker rings. However, confirm the exact delivered contents in your quote, since kits can vary.
How to order
Lost in HCM lists the probe as an option for the R&S RTM3000 family, but check your scope’s inputs and firmware first. Then request a quote from Lost in HCM for rental, purchase or service. You can also browse oscilloscope probes or contact SMK Vietnam. Ratings come from the Rohde & Schwarz high-voltage probe page. Always follow the manufacturer’s manual and ratings with the Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZH11 probe.
RT-ZH11 questions
Does a passive probe need power?
No. It works as a divider, so there is no amplifier to supply.
Can it measure a floating high-side node?
Not on its own, because it references scope ground. Use an RT-ZHD differential probe for that.
Which attenuation does it use?
Rohde & Schwarz lists 1000:1 for the RT-ZH11.
