Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZC20 probe, 100 MHz Current Probe, 30 A RMS, BNC Output

The Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZC20 probe is a 100 MHz clamp current probe for up to 30 A RMS at 0.1 V/A. It uses a BNC output with the R&S RT-ZA13 supply. Lost in HCM rents and sells it.

Description

Most power benches need one dependable clamp for everyday current work. So the Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZC20 probe fills that role. It is an AC/DC clamp current probe. In fact, the R&S family page says its clamps read both DC and AC current. It covers 100 MHz and up to 30 A RMS at 0.1 V/A. Lost in HCM rents and sells it in Vietnam.

A 30 A clamp with a BNC output

This model connects to a BNC scope input. It also draws power from the separate R&S RT-ZA13 probe supply, so plan for that box on the bench. The small termination box carries DEMAG and ZERO ADJ controls for setup, as the manual explains. Then, at 0.1 V/A, a 10 A current reads as 1 V on screen.

Daily work in power and motor labs

A 30 A range covers a lot of ground. For instance, teams use a clamp like this for the jobs below.

  • Motor phase current in small drives and e-bikes.
  • Input current of power supplies and chargers.
  • Battery pack charge and discharge current.
  • Inrush when a product first powers up.

In each case the current stays inside 30 A RMS, while the edges stay well below 100 MHz. As a result, the Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZC20 probe covers most of the work a general power lab sees.

RT-ZC20 or RT-ZC20B

The two models share 100 MHz, 30 A RMS and 0.1 V/A. However, the RT-ZC20 uses BNC with the RT-ZA13 supply, while the RT-ZC20B uses the Rohde & Schwarz probe interface. So the choice depends on the scope inputs you already have.

Request the Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZC20 probe

A rental covers a test campaign or a customer audit, since both have an end date. On the other hand, buying makes sense when the clamp lives on your bench. In both cases, request a quote from Lost in HCM and say whether you need the RT-ZA13 supply too. Also see more oscilloscope probes, check the Rohde & Schwarz current probe list, or contact SMK Vietnam.

Common RT-ZC20 questions

Will it work with my oscilloscope?

The listing names a BNC input plus the RT-ZA13 supply, not a scope model. So confirm input impedance and scaling with Lost in HCM first.

Why use DEMAG and ZERO ADJ?

They clear residual magnetism and offset in the clamp. So follow the Rohde & Schwarz manual for the exact steps.
