Snap-on TESI70L Torque Wrench, Newton Meter Light Signal Torqometer, 3/8″ Drive, 70 N·m

Tea factories in Thai Nguyen and Lam Dong refit roller and dryer parts every flush, and the Snap-on TESI70L torque wrench flashes a lamp when each bolt hits the target. It reads 70 N·m in newton meters on a 3/8-inch drive.

Description

Tea from Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Ha Giang and Lam Dong moves through withering troughs, rollers, dryers and sorters within hours of picking. During each flush, factories run late, and short breaks offer the only time for repairs. Those repairs end with many mid-size bolts on rollers, fans and frames. The Snap-on TESI70L torque wrench gives fitters a newton meter dial and a lamp that flashes at the target.

Short breaks between flushes

Fresh leaf will not wait, so a rolling table or CTC machine must return to work fast. A signal lamp speeds that up, because the fitter stops on the flash instead of watching a scale. The Snap-on TESI70L torque wrench then shows the reached value on its needle for the repair log. In addition, its short body reaches around guards and frames.

Snap-on lists the TESI70L in its Newton Meter Reading/Standard 2% Accuracy table. This code has no C, and the Lost in HCM title names no certificate. The same table explains that adding a C to the stock number orders the certificate of calibration model, which would be TESI70LC.

Tea factory jobs for the Snap-on TESI70L torque wrench

  • Pressure cap, crank and table bolts on orthodox rollers.
  • Roller housing and guard bolts on CTC machines, within range.
  • Fan, tray and chain sprocket bolts on dryers.
  • Frame and screen bolts on fiber extractors, sifters and sorters.

Many tea machines come from India, China or Japan, and each maker sets its own values. So check the manual, and confirm the figure falls between 14 and 70 N·m.

Standard 2% from 14 N·m

Lost in HCM lists this wrench under Newton Meter Reading/Standard 2% Accuracy. Snap-on’s Standard grade means within 2% of reading, starting at 20% of full scale. So for the TESI70L, the lower edge of the band sits at 14 N·m. Also, 70 N·m is about 52 ft-lb, which helps with older imperial manuals.

Leaf dust, damp and heat

Fine tea dust and fiber drift through every factory, while dryers add heat and steam. So wipe the TESI70L after each repair, and keep it in its PB9 case away from the dryer. Snap-on rates its dial wrenches for 0 to 100 °F, so avoid hot ledges near the burners. Never use it to free a rusted bolt. Then plan recalibration with an outside lab before the main flush.

Tea processing FAQ for the TESI70L

How do the TESI70L and TESI70LC differ?

Per Snap-on’s catalog, the C version adds a certificate of calibration. The dial, drive and range stay the same.

Will it read ft-lb?

No, the dial shows newton meters only. Multiply a ft-lb value by about 1.356 to get N·m.

Does the lamp replace reading the dial?

No. The flash tells you to stop, and the needle still gives the number for your log.
