Description
Aluminum beverage cans pour out of plants in Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Bac Ninh and Quang Nam every day. Then filling halls seam lids onto them at very high speed. Bodymakers, decorators and seamers all need tight, even bolts to hold their settings. The Snap-on TESI60L Torqometer gives line fitters a 60 N·m dial and a lamp that flashes at the target.

Can line tasks
- Seamer chuck, roll arm and turret cover bolts after a format change.
- Bodymaker toolpack and ram guide clamp bolts.
- Decorator blanket wheel and mandrel bolts.
- Conveyor, guide rail and starwheel bolts on fillers.
Machine builders publish their own values, and some seamer parts need special gauges too. So take each number from the manual, then confirm it fits on the TESI60L scale.
Why the Snap-on TESI60L Torqometer flashes
A can line hums at high speed, and fitters often work around guards and tight frames. In that case the dial face may sit out of view. A signal model solves this, because its built-in light flashes when the targeted torque arrives. Yet the needle still records the value for the changeover sheet.
Figures from the TESI60L row
| Item | TESI60L (CAT1500i p.334) |
|---|---|
| Square drive | 3/8 in |
| Range | 60 N·m |
| Increments | 2 N·m |
| Length | 12-1/2 in |
| Width / head depth | 2-11/16 in / 1-1/4 in |
| Storage case | PB9 |
Snap-on prints this row in its Newton Meter Reading/Standard 2% Accuracy table on page 334 of CAT1500i. Its 2005 Torqometer notice also shows the same figures. The catalog also says certificate of calibration models carry a C suffix. So the certificate version is TESI60LC, while the TESI60L name lists no certificate.
Using the 2% band
Lost in HCM files this wrench under Newton Meter Reading/Standard 2% Accuracy. Snap-on keeps that grade within 2% of reading from one fifth of the scale to full scale. For the TESI60L, the band begins at 12 N·m. In addition, 60 N·m equals about 44 ft-lb, which helps when a U.S. manual lands on the bench.
Washdown areas and storage
Filling halls get wet, and sugar residue sticks to every tool. Therefore keep the TESI60L out of washdown zones and wipe it dry after each change. In addition, Snap-on rates the Torqometer line for 0 to 100 °F. Also avoid using it as a breaker bar, since the catalog warns against loosening fasteners with it. Store it in the PB9 case and plan regular recalibration.

Can plant FAQ for the TESI60L
Is 2 N·m per step fine enough?
For most seamer and guide bolts, it is. If your values sit below 12 N·m, the TESI30L or TESI20L starts its band lower.
Is a certificate model listed?
Snap-on’s catalog lists certificate models under a C suffix, so the code would be TESI60LC. Ask Lost in HCM whether they can quote it.
Will the lamp work in a wet area?
The catalog lists no water rating for the TESI60L. So keep the wrench dry and away from hoses.
