Description
Ninh Thuan grows most of Vietnam’s grapes, and small wineries there and in Da Lat turn them into wine and juice. Each harvest then brings a rush of work for destemmers, presses, pumps and bottling machines. Each machine comes apart for cleaning, then goes back together before the next load. The Snap-on TESI30FU torque wrench lets the cellar team tighten those bolts and keep a record.

The second needle at harvest time
Harvest days run long, and a cellar hand rarely has time to stare at a dial. With the Snap-on TESI30FU torque wrench, one needle shows the targeted torque. Meanwhile, the second needle stops at the torque achieved and stays there. So the worker can finish the pull, then read and log the value.
Winery machines that suit the TESI30FU
- Destemmer cage, auger and motor mount bolts.
- Press door, membrane cover and frame bolts during a clean.
- Must pump base, valve body and pipe bracket bolts.
- Filler, capper and labeler change parts on the bottling line.
Equipment makers set the values, and food contact parts may need special tools. Thus read the manual first, then confirm the target sits inside the TESI30FU scale.
TESI30FU data
- Square drive: 3/8 in.
- Range: 30 N·m, in 1 N·m increments.
- Body: 9-29/32 in long and 2-11/16 in wide, with a 1-1/4 in head depth.
- Storage case: PB9.
These values come from the Newton Meter Reading/Standard 2% Accuracy table on page 334 of Snap-on CAT1500i. The 2005 Torqometer notice also prints the same row. The source name has no C, so the listing names no certificate. Still, per the catalog, adding a C orders the certificate version, TESI30FUC.
2% from 6 N·m on the Snap-on TESI30FU torque wrench
Lost in HCM lists the wrench under Newton Meter Reading/Standard 2% Accuracy. In short, Snap-on keeps that grade within 2% of reading from 20% of full scale to full scale. As a result, the band on this dial starts at 6 N·m. For reference, 30 N·m is about 22 ft-lb.
Cellar care
Cellars stay damp, and grape juice turns sticky as it dries. So wipe the TESI30FU after each job and keep it in its PB9 case, away from the press floor. In addition, Snap-on lists an operating range of 0 to 100 °F for the line. Also set the follow-up needle back to zero before every bolt. Finally, plan periodic recalibration, as Snap-on advises.
Ordering the Snap-on TESI30FU torque wrench

Cellar team questions
Can one TESI30FU cover the whole cellar?
It covers bolts up to 30 N·m. However, heavier frame and tank bolts need a larger dial, such as the TESI60FU or TESI125FU.
Does a certificate ship with it?
The TESI30FU name lists none. So ask Lost in HCM about the TESI30FUC, the C-suffix model in Snap-on’s catalog.
Can the wrench touch must or wine?
Keep it off food contact surfaces. Clean the machine parts, not the wrench, with cellar chemicals.
