Description
Tire factories in Hai Phong, Tay Ninh and Binh Duong run mixers, extruders and curing presses around the clock. Heat cycles and constant motion work on their bolts, so planned stops always include a torque round. The Snap-on TER352LA torque wrench brings Snap-on’s Precise 1% grade to that round, with a lamp that flashes at the target. Its dial also reads both newton meters and foot-pounds.

Snap-on TER352LA torque wrench in the tire plant
- Curing press mold and platen bolts, within the dial.
- Extruder head, die holder and screen changer bolts after cool-down.
- Mixer gearbox and motor mount bolts.
- Bead line and calender roll housing bolts.
Snap-on rates its dial wrenches for an operating range of 0-100 °F. So keep the TER352LA off hot platens, and let parts cool as the machine maker directs before the final check.
A lamp for a hot, noisy floor
Curing lines hiss, while workers wear gloves and face shields. Under those conditions, a dial is easy to misread mid-pull. Snap-on’s Signal models therefore add a built-in light that flashes when the targeted torque arrives. As a result, the fitter watches the bolt, sees the flash and stops. Afterward, the TER352LA dial still shows the value for the log.

Precise 1% on a 480 N·m dial
Lost in HCM files the TER352LA in its Combination US/Newton Meter Reading/Precise 1% Accuracy category. Snap-on’s Precise grade holds within 1% of reading, from 20% of full scale to the top. Thus, on this dial, the band starts at 96 N·m, or 70 ft-lb. That makes it a strong choice when an audit needs a tighter tolerance than the Standard grade gives.
Care between rounds
Keep the Snap-on TER352LA torque wrench in its PB39 case, away from carbon black dust and release agents. Also wipe the dial guard after each round. Never use the wrench to break a seized bolt loose. Then send it out for periodic recalibration, since Snap-on says recalibration is necessary to keep its accuracy.
