Description
Hydraulic and pneumatic fittings punish a guess. Too little torque leaks, and too much cracks a flare. The Snap-on TECH2Y100 torque wrench gives line and maintenance teams an electronic handle for 5 to 100 ft-lb. Its Y-shank receiver accepts open-end, flare-nut and ratchet heads, so one tool reaches many fittings.

Which shank does what
| Shank | Diameter | Standard head, pin to fastener |
|---|---|---|
| J | 0.425 in | 2.50 in |
| Y | 0.560 in | 3.00 in |
| X | 0.735 in | 4.50 in |
| Z | 0.990 in | 5.75 in |
This handle is a Y model. Therefore only Y heads lock into it, and a standard Y head puts the fastener 3.00 inches beyond the retaining pin. Larger shanks belong to heavier handles, while J suits the lightest work.

Heads come separately
Snap-on sells each head under its own part number. As a result, most buyers start with two or three heads and add more later. A flare-nut head suits brake and fuel lines, whereas a ratchet head speeds up runs of small bolts. In addition, SMK Vietnam already lists Y-shank click bodies, so ask Lost in HCM whether your existing heads can move between them.
Snap-on TECH2Y100 torque wrench or ControlTech Link?
Snap-on’s ControlTech Link CTLNK2Y100 shares the Y shank and the 5-100 ft-lb span. However, it adds a time-stamped data trail and a wireless link to a plant controller. So if you only need a correct reading, the Techwrench is the simpler buy. If your customer audits each joint, compare both models in one quote.
Daily care
First, wipe hydraulic fluid off the head after each job. Then store the handle in its case with the heads beside it. Finally, send it to your calibration lab on a fixed cycle.
