Description

On golf assembly benches and in fitting studios, small screws hold sole weights, hosel sleeves and badges. Too little torque lets a weight rattle loose mid-round, while too much strips a fine thread in a costly head. The Snap-on TE3FUAC torque wrench gives these benches a 30 in-lb dial with two needles. One needle marks the target, and the other shows the torque you reached.

Golf bench jobs for the Snap-on TE3FUAC torque wrench

  • Sole and back weight screws on drivers, fairway woods and hybrids.
  • Hosel adapter screws on adjustable heads.
  • Badge and insert hardware during repair.
  • Clamp screws on bench jigs and shaft holders.

Club brands publish their own torque values, however, and many ship a dedicated key. So check each value against the 30 in-lb scale first. Then use the TE3FUAC to confirm the work or to audit the brand tool.

Two needles make a cleaner record

Fitters often change settings for a player. With a follow-up dial, the second needle marks the torque achieved, so a supervisor can read it after the pull. As a result, the shop can log each screw for warranty or repair notes. The Snap-on TE3FUAC torque wrench also lets QA staff test what a preset key really delivers.

Snap-on lists the TE3FUA on page 333 of catalog CAT1500i, under US Reading/Standard 2% Accuracy. Per the catalog, ordering with a trailing C gets the certificate of calibration form. Thus the TE3FUAC is the C form of that wrench, and Lost in HCM titles it with Chart. This size has no signal model in the row.

Where the 2% grade starts

Lost in HCM places this wrench in its US Reading/Standard 2% Accuracy category. Snap-on defines that grade as within 2% of reading from 20% of full scale to full scale, clockwise and counterclockwise. For the TE3FUAC, that band begins at 6 in-lb. Below that point, choose a torque driver with a finer scale.

Bench care for a small dial

Grip solvent, epoxy and grinding dust are common in club shops, so keep the wrench in its PB9 case between jobs. Also pull slowly and square to the screw, because a tilted bit can slip out of a small recess. Never exceed the rated 30 in-lb, and never use the TE3FUAC to free a stuck screw. Snap-on rates the line for 0 to 100 °F. In addition, set a periodic recalibration interval with an outside lab.

Golf shop questions about the TE3FUAC

Will the TE3FUAC accept a golf key bit?

It has a 1/4 in square drive, so you need a bit holder with a matching square.

Why not rely on the brand’s preset key?

Preset keys suit players well. A dial wrench, by contrast, shows the actual number, so it fits audit and repair benches better.

Can I read the TE3FUAC in N·m?

No. The base row lists an in-lb scale. Its 30 in-lb top end equals about 3.4 N·m.
