Description
A hydraulic cylinder often joins its clevis or rod eye with a jam nut on the piston rod. On an ISO M22 rod thread, that nut takes a 34 mm hex. The Snap-on QZOM34ADP open end head reaches it from the side on a Z-shank (0.990 in) body. So the rod end can stay assembled while you torque it.

Rod-end lock nuts and the QZOM34ADP
The rod passes through the nut, so a socket cannot sit over it. A plain spanner can turn the nut, yet it gives no torque value. With the QZOM34ADP on a Z body, the fitter seats the jaw, holds the rod eye still and pulls to the click. Then the setting goes on the work order, which helps during audits. Take the value from the cylinder maker, because rod ends vary.
Check the M22 hex: 34 or 32 mm
In ISO 4032, an M22 nut measures 34 mm across the flats. DIN 934, however, uses 32 mm for the same thread. So a cylinder built to DIN may need a 32 mm jaw instead. A caliper check on one nut before ordering the QZOM34ADP avoids that mistake.
Bodies and limits for the Snap-on QZOM34ADP open end head
The Z body in CAT1500i is the QD4IN800A, which reads 129 to 572 ft-lb (150 to 800 N·m). Its table also carries a note on dual-pin heads, and this head has dual pins. On the head limit, though, CAT1500i and the UK brochure disagree. The brochure also names a single-pin QZOM34A. So ask Lost in HCM for the confirmed limit, and never set the body above it.
Size of the QZOM34ADP and its 34 mm neighbors
Both books give this jaw 68 mm across and 14 mm deep. Meanwhile, the 34 mm row has no J head, so the lightest option is the Y-shank QYOM34A. The X-shank QXOM34A sits between them. Pick the Snap-on QZOM34ADP open end head when the cylinder spec needs a long, heavy body.
Sending a quote request for the Snap-on QZOM34ADP open end head
This listing belongs to SMK Vietnam, but Lost in HCM ships the QZOM34ADP and writes the price. Request a quote from Lost in HCM and include the cylinder model or the rod thread. The Y and X 34 mm jaws appear under torque wrench heads and adaptors. Alternatively, contact SMK Vietnam for help with the body.
Cylinder rod-end FAQ: QZOM34ADP
Can one Z body serve both 34 mm and 36 mm nuts?
Yes. Swap the QZOM34ADP for the QZOM36ADP on the same Z body. Both keep the 5.75 in pin distance of the QZOM series.
Should the rod eye be held while I pull?
Yes. Hold the eye or clevis so the rod cannot turn, otherwise the click may come from rod rotation, not from the nut.
Is there a J-shank 34 mm jaw?
No. Neither Snap-on book lists a J head at 34 mm, so the Y-shank QYOM34A is the lightest choice.
