Description
Newer Japanese and Korean machines in Vietnamese FDI plants mostly follow ISO hardware. Under ISO 4017 and ISO 4032, an M14 bolt or nut carries a 21 mm hex. The Snap-on QYXM21A box end head fits that size with a closed 12-point ring on the Y shank (0.560 in). As a result, a mid-size body can handle M14 frames, mounts and housings.

Stepping up from the J ring at 21 mm
Snap-on’s UK brochure lists 21 mm rings for the J, Y and X shanks. It caps the J version, the QJXM21A, at 900 in-lb, or 75 ft-lb. So once an M14 spec climbs past that point, a J ring is out of its depth. The QYXM21A is the next step up, and it locks into the common 23 in Y bodies.
Logging M14 pulls with the Snap-on QYXM21A box end head
Many FDI customers ask suppliers for a record of every critical joint. For that job, pair the ring with the CTECH2Y100A, a Y-shank ControlTech body that reads 5 to 100 ft-lb. It stores 1,500 readings, and it offers 50 presets with a batch count of 99. In addition, a calibration due indicator warns the user when the wrench needs its next check. If the spec runs higher, the QD3IN200B dial body reaches 140 ft-lb.
Fit check for the QYXM21A: 31 mm wide, 13 mm deep
The ring measures 31 mm across, so it needs about 15.5 mm from the bolt center to a wall. Its 13 mm depth slips under most covers and guard lips. Also, the bolt sits 3.00 in from the retaining pin, which keeps the swing arc short.
