Description
A flat ring head can trap your knuckles against a cover or a casting. The Snap-on QYXBM18A box end head adds a 10° offset, so the body angles up and away from the joint. It grips an 18 mm nut or bolt on a Y-shank torque wrench body.

Matching the QYXBM18A to a body
Pick any Snap-on body with a Y shank. On SMK Vietnam, for instance, that means the QD3IN200B dual-range body or the QC3P150 and QC3P200 preset bodies. It also means Y-shank electronic wrenches, such as the CTECH2Y100A, TECH2Y100 and CTLNK2Y100. Note one limit, though. The QC3P200 reaches 200 ft-lb, so hold any setting with this head to 160 ft-lb or less.
Offset and head length
Snap-on lists the same 3.00 in pin spacing for this head as for its standard Y heads. Its dual-range QD bodies therefore need no adjustment calculation with it. Snap-on does not publish a separate offset correction, so we do not add one here.
QYXBM18A versus other 18 mm heads
- QJXBM18A: the same 10° offset ring on a J shank, rated 60 ft-lb.
- QYSBXM18A: an 18 mm ring with a 40° bend, also on a Y shank.
- QYXBM18A: the 10° offset Y-shank head on this page, rated 160 ft-lb.
So choose the J version for light bodies, the 40° bend for deep pockets, and this head for general Y-shank work.
Using the Snap-on QYXBM18A box end head safely
Push the ring fully over the hex before you load it. Then pull at a steady rate until the body signals. Also avoid using the head to free a seized nut, since Snap-on warns against breaking fasteners loose with torque tools.
Quote and supply
Lost in HCM supplies the QYXBM18A and handles every quote. SMK Vietnam lists it for them and does not stock it. To begin, ask Lost in HCM to quote the QYXBM18A. You can also see more heads and adaptors, compare Y-shank torque wrenches, or contact SMK Vietnam.
QYXBM18A FAQ
Why choose a 10° offset over a flat ring?
The offset lifts the body away from the work, which can give your hand more room near covers and castings.
Can I use it at 200 ft-lb on a QC3P200?
No. Snap-on rates the QYXBM18A at 160 ft-lb maximum, so stay at or below that value.
Does it fit J-shank bodies?
No. For J bodies, Snap-on lists the QJXBM18A instead.
