Description
A 25 mm hex is rare on plain nuts, yet it often turns up on hydraulic adapters, valve cartridges and plugs. The Snap-on QXOM25A open end head lets an X-shank (0.735 in) torque body reach those parts from the side. So a crew that already carries an X wrench can add this size without another body.

CAT1500i and the UK brochure agree on every line above. On the maximum working torque, however, they print different values. So ask Lost in HCM to confirm the limit with your quote.
X bodies and the Snap-on QXOM25A open end head
CAT1500i lists two X bodies. The QD3IN350A adjusts from 70 to 350 N·m (59 to 251 ft-lb) and runs 23 in long. The QC4P300 preset covers 60 to 300 ft-lb at 27 in. Both start near 60 ft-lb, so the Snap-on QXOM25A open end head suits mid and high values, not light ones. Also, both scales run past the head limit, therefore treat the confirmed limit as your ceiling.
A 25 mm job on a wheel loader
Take a wheel loader with a valve block behind the cab. A 25 mm adapter on that block sits between two hoses, so a socket would mean draining the circuit. Instead, the technician fits the QXOM25A to the X body, slides it onto the flats and pulls to the click. Then the hoses stay connected, and the machine returns to work sooner.
When a J or Y jaw beats the QXOM25A
Snap-on makes 25 mm open end heads for the J and Y shanks as well. Those suit lower specs and shorter bodies. For example, a spec under 60 ft-lb sits below both X bodies, so a J or Y kit is the better choice. The QXOM25A earns its place when the value is high and the X body is already in the van.

X-shank 25 mm FAQ: QXOM25A
Does the QXOM25A fit a Z-shank body?
No. A Z body needs a Z head, such as the dual-pin QZOM25ADP from the same 25 mm row.
How much reach does the QXOM25A add?
The pin sits 4.50 in from the nut center. So the swing grows past the 23 in or 27 in body, and you need that room behind the joint.
Can I order a 25 mm X jaw for an inch-sized hex?
No, 25 mm is a metric opening and will not grip 1 in flats well. Ask Lost in HCM for the inch head instead.
