Description
European machines built to DIN 933 and DIN 934 put a 17 mm hex on M10 bolts. ISO hardware with the same thread uses 16 mm, so a plant that mixes both standards needs two rings. The Snap-on QJXM17A box end head covers the DIN side on the lightest Snap-on shank. It wraps all six corners of the hex, so the grip holds even when the bolt head sits in a recess.

Three shanks meet at 17 mm
In Snap-on’s UK torque brochure, 17 mm is the first metric row that offers J, Y and X rings side by side. All three share one opening, so the wrench body you own makes the choice.
| Part | Shank | Pin to fastener center |
|---|---|---|
| QJXM17A | J (0.425 in) | 2.50 in |
| QYXM17A | Y (0.560 in) | 3.00 in |
| QXXM17A | X (0.735 in) | 4.50 in |
Each of these rings measures 25 mm across and 11 mm deep. As a result, the QJXM17A wants about 12.5 mm of free space from the bolt center to the nearest wall.
Which J bodies drive the Snap-on QJXM17A box end head
- QD2IN50A, 10-50 N·m (9.2-35.0 ft-lb), for light M10 joints in plastic or aluminum.
- QD2IN100A, 20-100 N·m (16.6-71.9 ft-lb), the wider J dual-scale model.
- QC2P75 preset, 5-75 ft-lb, locked to one value at a line station.
Snap-on builds QD heads to a fixed pin spacing, so a QD body needs no length math with the QJXM17A. However, the brochure and the partner data list different maximum ratings for this ring. Therefore, Lost in HCM confirms the limit with your quote, and you keep the body below it.
When the 17 mm J ring is the wrong pick
A steel M10 bolt in a high property class often needs more than a J body can give. In that case, move up to the QYXM17A or QXXM17A, which fit the same hex. On the other hand, the Snap-on QJXM17A box end head shines on cover plates, sensor brackets and cable tray clamps. Those joints carry modest values, and a short tool shows the click more clearly.
Quoting the Snap-on QJXM17A box end head
SMK Vietnam lists the QJXM17A for its partner Lost in HCM, which supplies the head and prepares the price. Note your J body model and the M10 value in the request. Then request a quote from Lost in HCM for this part. You can also compare rings under torque wrench heads and adaptors or contact SMK Vietnam with a fit question.
QJXM17A fit questions
Will the QJXM17A fit an ISO M10 bolt?
Not well. ISO M10 hardware uses a 16 mm hex, so this 17 mm ring would sit loose. Measure the flats first.
Can I move this head to a Y body later?
No. The J shank locks only into J bodies, so a Y wrench needs the QYXM17A.
Does the 17 mm J ring need much side room?
It needs about 12.5 mm from the bolt center, which is half of its 25 mm width.
