Description
Plenty of M10 nuts sit on a long thread or behind a tube. The Snap-on QJOM16A open end head reaches them from the side with a 16 mm jaw on a J shank (0.425 in). As a result, a slim J body can apply a set torque where a socket cannot pass.

16 or 17 mm? Check the M10 standard first
M10 hardware comes in two common hex sizes. ISO 4032 nuts use 16 mm, while DIN 934 and older JIS nuts use 17 mm. So a mixed fleet of Japanese and European machines may carry both. Therefore, measure a sample nut before you order the QJOM16A. If you find 17 mm, the QJOM17A fits instead.
J-shank wrench bodies for the Snap-on QJOM16A open end head
| Body | Type | Range |
|---|---|---|
| QD2IN50A | Dual scale | 10-50 N·m (9.2-35.0 ft-lb) |
| QD2IN100A | Dual scale | 20-100 N·m (16.6-71.9 ft-lb) |
| QC2I75 | Adjustable | 5-75 ft-lb |
| QC2P75 | Preset | 5-75 ft-lb |
Many plant drawings state M10 torque in N·m, so a QD dual-scale body saves a conversion. Meanwhile, the QC2P75 preset suits a line that repeats one value all shift. In each case, the QJOM16A slides on and locks with the same pin.
Rating: confirm before you set the dial
CAT1500i and the UK brochure print different maximum torque values for the QJOM16A. So this page leaves the number out. Before you set a wrench, ask Lost in HCM for the confirmed limit. Then keep the dial at or below it, because an open jaw grips only two flats and can spread. Both sources do agree on the size of the Snap-on QJOM16A open end head, though: about 33 mm across and about 7 mm deep.
Snap-on QJOM16A open end head or the Y-shank QYOM16A?
Snap-on also lists a 16 mm jaw on the Y shank, the QYOM16A. CAT1500i rates it at 88 ft-lb, and the UK brochure agrees at 1,060 in-lb. So if your spec runs past the J range, move to that head and a Y body such as the QD3IN200B. Otherwise, the QJOM16A keeps the lighter kit.
Getting a QJOM16A quote
Request a quote from Lost in HCM for the QJOM16A and mention the body you use. SMK Vietnam lists the head, while Lost in HCM supplies it and answers spec questions. The torque wrench heads and adaptors category holds the other J jaws, and you can contact SMK Vietnam with questions.
M10 jaw questions
Will the QJOM16A fit a DIN 934 M10 nut?
Not usually. DIN 934 gives M10 a 17 mm hex, so the 16 mm jaw would not go on. Check the nut first.
Which J body reads in N·m?
The QD2IN50A and QD2IN100A are dual-range bodies with N·m and ft-lb scales. Pick the QD2IN50A for the lowest M10 specs.
Is the QJOM16A thin enough for jam nuts?
Its head depth is about 7 mm in both Snap-on sources. So it suits most thin nuts, but measure the flats before you buy.
