Electronics and small-component lines often need proof as well as precision. The Snap-on CTLNK1J240 torque wrench delivers both at low values. It covers 1 to 20 ft-lb, or 12 to 240 in-lb, and it records each reading. Its J-shank receiver takes Snap-on’s smallest interchangeable heads.

Snap-on rates Link wrenches as usable from 5% to 100% of capacity. Between 20% and 100%, which is 48 to 240 in-lb here, accuracy is ±2% clockwise and ±3% counterclockwise. Below 48 in-lb, the band widens to ±4% and ±6%. Therefore, set daily targets in the upper band where you can.
Small heads on the J shank
The J shank measures 0.425 inch, the smallest of Snap-on’s four sizes. Then Y, X and Z follow as the handles get stronger. Also, standard J heads place the fastener 2.50 inches from the retaining pin. You buy heads separately, such as a 1/4-inch square drive head, open-end heads or box-end heads.

Presets and sequences for the Snap-on CTLNK1J240 torque wrench
Snap-on built the Link wrenches for repeat work, so presets matter. You can lock memory presets and program a sequence, so the wrench steps through a fixed order of joints. Each reading also carries a time stamp, and the wrench holds 1,500 of them.
Link also means wireless contact with Snap-on’s CTLNKCTRL controller. That controller can pass data to a plant MES or work as a standalone collection point.
