Description
Energy sites mix small fasteners with harsh working conditions. Think of terminal screws in a solar combiner box, gland nuts on a junction box or sensor mounts on a gas skid. The Snap-on ATECH1FS240 torque wrench covers that work with a 1/4-inch drive and a range of 12 to 240 in-lb.

Range and where accuracy is best
The ATECH1FS240 spans 1 to 20 ft-lb, or 1.36 to 27.12 N·m. Its top end is more than twice that of the 100 in-lb micro model, so one tool can handle both terminal screws and small flange bolts. However, the low end matters as well. Snap-on rates TechAngle accuracy at ±2% clockwise from 20 to 100% of full scale. In practice, targets from about 48 in-lb up fall in that band.
Snap-on ATECH1FS240 torque wrench data
- 1/4-inch square drive with a sealed flex head and a chrome finish
- 72-tooth ratchet with a 5 degree swing
- Head 7/16 inch deep and 7/8 inch wide
- 11.6 inches long and 0.93 lb (0.42 kg) without the battery
- PBATECH240M storage case
These figures come from Snap-on’s Industrial catalog CAT1500i. It also lists torque-then-angle mode, ten presets and multi-axis gyro compensation for the TechAngle range.
Field use in oil, gas, power and solar
Field crews often work from ladders, inside panels or on skids. The compact ATECH1FS240 helps there, because the flex head lets the hand stay clear of edges and cable runs. Vibration alerts also help when gloves, wind or ear protection mask other signals. In addition, the cycle counter and calibration alerts help a supervisor plan checks between site visits.
Colour versions in the same family
Snap-on’s catalog also lists coloured 1/4-inch, 240 in-lb models: ATECH1F240RB in red, ATECH1F240GB in green and ATECH1F240OB in orange. So if your team codes tools by area, ask whether a coloured model suits better than the chrome ATECH1FS240.

Energy site FAQ
Is the ATECH1FS240 on Snap-on’s US web store?
When we checked, the US store showed the metric ATECH1FS240N instead. The CAT1500i catalog still lists the ATECH1FS240, so Lost in HCM will confirm availability.
Can the screen read N·m for metric drawings?
Yes. It switches between ft-lb, in-lb, N·m, dN·m and kg-cm, and it can also read angle.
Can crews leave it in a hot van?
Better not. Snap-on lists 0 to 130 °F (about -18 to 54 °C) for operating and storage, so keep it in its case and out of direct sun.
