Description
Thermocouples, RTDs and a crowd of other sensors soon outnumber the inputs on a single meter. The Keysight DAQ973MB data acquisition bundle answers that with a DAQ973A mainframe and three DAQM901A 20-channel multiplexers, so it scans 60 voltage input channels. Lost in HCM lists it for rental and sale.

What the three multiplexers add
The mainframe has three slots, and each slot holds one multiplexer. Together they give 60 voltage inputs. In addition, the system has 6 dedicated current channels. An internal 6.5-digit DMM reads whatever the scan selects. A full sweep can then run at up to 80 channels per second.
- Mainframe: DAQ973A, 3 slots.
- Modules: 3 x DAQM901A, 20 channels each.
- Control: LAN, USB and GPIB.
Sensors it can read
Two-wire and four-wire scanning handles resistance and temperature work. Built-in conditioning also covers thermocouples, RTDs, thermistors, voltage, current and frequency. As a result, one harness can carry a mixed sensor set, so you avoid a separate meter for each type.
Jobs for the Keysight DAQ973MB data acquisition bundle
- Burn-in runs that log dozens of temperatures at once.
- Battery and power-device monitoring during long cycles.
- Multi-channel sensor checks before a product ships.
- Temperature and environmental data logging.
- Older GPIB production systems that must keep their control code.
Planning your channel count
Start by counting the sensors you must read together. Sixty channels cover a large thermal map, yet a bigger oven may need a second frame. Next, note which signals need current, because only six channels are dedicated to it. Then pick the control link. GPIB suits an existing rack, while LAN and USB suit a new PC.
Rent for a test run or buy for a line
Rent the Keysight DAQ973MB data acquisition bundle for a validation campaign, an audit or a new test line. Buy it when the same scan runs every shift. Either way, Lost in HCM confirms the configuration, condition and availability before you commit.

DAQ973MB questions
How many channels does this bundle scan?
Three DAQM901A multiplexers give 60 voltage input channels, and the system adds 6 dedicated current channels.
Which control interfaces does it offer?
It connects over GPIB, LAN or USB, so an existing GPIB program can keep running while new stations use LAN or USB.
Can it read thermocouples directly?
Yes. Its built-in conditioning supports thermocouples, RTDs and thermistors, along with voltage, current and frequency.
