Description
A Versatest indicator only reads what the bench feeds it. If technicians pull wrenches by hand, the speed and angle change on every test. The Snap-on VERSA600LDR2 torque loader takes that variation out. It holds the wrench and applies load through a crank, up to 600 ft-lb.

When to buy the loader on its own
Snap-on sells the VERSA600LDR2 inside the VERSATEST600 system. Even so, a separate loader makes sense in a few cases:
- You already run a Versatest indicator and transducers, but test by hand today.
- You want a second loading station beside an existing bench.
- An older loader needs replacing, while the electronics still serve well.
What the Snap-on VERSA600LDR2 torque loader handles
Snap-on’s catalog says the unit loads dial, micrometer, beam and electronic torque wrenches. Its maximum capacity is 600 ft-lb. It also accepts any TTC series transducer from 15 in-oz to 600 ft-lb. For example, the TTC12 3/4 in transducer, rated 60 to 600 ft-lb, covers the loader’s top end.
Notes for the TTC400 and screwdrivers
The TTC400 4-in-1 transducer needs the TTC5000-1 adaptor plate on this loader. In addition, Snap-on lists a TTC75006 torque screwdriver testing kit for the VERSATEST600 loader system. So the same station can cover small drivers as well as large wrenches.
Rules Snap-on prints for the VERSA600LDR2
- Do not exceed the rated torque.
- Do not use it to break fasteners loose.
- Plan periodic recalibration to hold accuracy.
Therefore, keep heavy wrenches above 600 ft-lb on a larger bench such as a TTC2000 system.
Setting it on the bench
Snap-on’s older UK brochure describes the earlier VERSA600LDR as a portable table-top loader with a safety shield. Treat the Snap-on VERSA600LDR2 torque loader the same way: place it on a firm, clean surface at a comfortable height. Then route the transducer cable clear of the crank. Also keep the shield in place for every test.
