Description
On a busy car or motorbike line, nutrunners tighten most joints, yet someone still has to prove they hold. The Snap-on VERSA2S100A torque sensor gives that person a number to record. It is a 3/8-inch drive in-line sensor for the Versatorq 2 system, and it reads from 10 to 100 ft-lb.

How an in-line sensor reads torque
The VERSA2S100A sits between your hand driver and the socket, so all the torque you apply flows through it. Then a coiled cable carries the signal to the Versatorq 2 meter. In Track mode the meter shows torque live while the fastener turns. Peak mode, by contrast, holds the highest value of each pull. As a result, the operator sees the reading at the exact moment it matters.
Snap-on pairs these sensors with a standard ratchet or breaker bar of any length. Sockets, extensions, universal joints and ratcheting drivers also fit the chain. If you plan to run the sensor behind a power tool, ask Lost in HCM to confirm that use first.

Quality teams often recheck a sample of joints at the end of a shift. For example, a technician can test wheel, seat or subframe bolts with a ratchet and this sensor. The meter keeps each value, and the tech downloads the file over mini USB later. Snap-on says no client software is required, so results reach a spreadsheet fast.

Choosing the right size
Start with the target torque on your drawing. Then choose the sensor that places that target well inside its band, ideally near the middle. So a 60 ft-lb joint suits the VERSA2S100A, while a small screw needs one of the 1/4-inch models. Snap-on offers eight ranges in total, from 2-20 in-oz up to 150-1,500 ft-lb.
Daily care
Keep the VERSA2S100A cable free of sharp bends and pinch points. Also avoid using the sensor to break loose seized bolts. Store it in a case next to the meter. Snap-on notes that customer calibration supports ASME and ISO methods, so plan regular checks with an outside lab.
