Description
Electronics and appliance lines run many small click wrenches, and most of them work well under 50 N·m. The Snap-on TTC7 torque transducer checks that band from a 3/8 in square drive. Its range runs from 30 to 400 in-lb, which is about 3.4 to 45 N·m, or 2.5 to 33 ft-lb. So one sensor covers a large share of the wrenches a QA lab sees each week.

Wrench checks that fit the Snap-on TTC7 torque transducer
- QC1I200, 40-200 in-lb: the whole scale sits inside the TTC7 range.
- QC1P300 preset, 60-300 in-lb: every preset value fits.
- CTECH1J240A, 12-240 in-lb: values from 30 in-lb up fit, while most lower ones suit the 1/4 in TTC65.
- QD2IN50A, 10-50 N·m: that is about 89 to 443 in-lb, so the top of its scale needs the TTC8.
Also note that Snap-on quotes TTC2000 and Versatest system accuracy from 10% of full scale. For the TTC7, that point is 40 in-lb. Therefore the sensor gives its best readings from there to 400 in-lb.
TTC7 beside the TTC65 and the TTC8
| Model | Drive | Range |
|---|---|---|
| TTC65 | 1/4 in | 15-150 in-lb |
| TTC7 | 3/8 in | 30-400 in-lb |
| TTC8 | 3/8 in | 80-1,000 in-lb |
So the TTC7 bridges its two neighbors, with overlap at both ends. All three share the TTC3421 bench bracket. In addition, Snap-on includes the correct adaptor with each TTC transducer for its range.
Systems that read the TTC7
The TTC7 works with TTC2000 and TTC2800 monitors and with the Versatest system. Each TTC transducer carries a memory chip, so the monitor recognizes the sensor and loads its calibration on its own. For loading, the VERSA600LDR2 takes any TTC transducer from 15 in-oz to 600 ft-lb. Meanwhile, force testing runs only on single transducers like this one, not on the TTC400 4-in-1.
Bench habits for the Snap-on TTC7 torque transducer
First, fix the TTC3421 bracket to a stiff bench so the sensor cannot twist. Next, keep every load at or below 400 in-lb, because Snap-on warns against going past rated torque. The sensor itself also needs periodic checks, as Snap-on states for its testers. For that task, Snap-on sells weight sets and the TTC25002 calibration stand kit.
Quote a TTC7 through Lost in HCM
SMK Vietnam lists the TTC7 for Lost in HCM, which supplies the sensor and prepares the price. Tell them the monitor and loader on your bench. With that list in hand, request a quote from Lost in HCM. Testers and parts sit under torque testers and calibration systems, or you can contact SMK Vietnam.
Questions from QA labs on the TTC7
What does the TTC7 read in metric units?
About 3.4 to 45 N·m, from its 30 to 400 in-lb rating.
Can the TTC7 test a 50 N·m wrench at full scale?
No. 50 N·m is about 443 in-lb, above its 400 in-lb top, so use the TTC8 for that point.
Do I need a TTC7 if I already own a TTC400?
Not always, since the TTC400 already covers a 30 to 400 in-lb band. A single TTC7 still helps for force testing, which the TTC400 cannot run.
