Description
Screwdriver torques are small, and small torques are easy to get wrong. For instance, even a light weight on a long lever overshoots the target. The Snap-on TTC500 calibration wheel solves this with a short, fixed radius. Snap-on lists it as a 2-1/2 in wheel with a 1/4 in square drive and a maximum of 50 in-oz. It is also the smallest wheel in the TTC calibration range.

Why in-oz work needs the Snap-on TTC500 calibration wheel
Fifty in-oz equals about 3.1 in-lb, or roughly 0.35 N·m. That band covers sensors for precision drivers on electronics, optics and medical device lines. At these values, even the hanger counts toward the load, so a short radius keeps each weight step useful. As a result, the expected torque stays simple to calculate on a note pad.
Matching the wheel to a TTC transducer
Snap-on’s brochure lists the TTC5 transducer with a 1/4 in drive and a range of 15 to 200 in-oz. The TTC500 also shares that drive size. However, the wheel stops at 50 in-oz, so it reaches only the lower part of the TTC5 range. For the upper points, a lab can move to the 5 in TTC1510 wheel, which Snap-on rates to 150 in-lb.
Parts that work alongside the TTC500
- Weight set 1, which Snap-on lists for use with all TTC transducers.
- The 4 oz hanger from the weight hanger table, for the lightest loads.
- A stand such as the TTC25002 calibration stand kit to hold the transducer still.
- The TTCCALKIT, if you want the wheel bundled with the larger wheels, an arm, weights and the stand.
Keep in mind that the TTC75002 is a different product. Snap-on lists it as a torque screwdriver testing kit for the 2000 and 2800 series systems, not as a wheel.
Handling a small wheel like the TTC500
Small parts suffer most from rough handling, so treat this one with care. For example, lift the wheel by its hub rather than the rim. Also keep the cord free of knots, because a knot on the rim shifts the working radius. Before each session, zero the indicator with the wheel fitted but unloaded. Then add the hanger and weights gently, and read the display only after the load settles.
Getting a Snap-on TTC500 calibration wheel quote
SMK Vietnam lists this wheel for its partner Lost in HCM, which supplies the part and handles pricing. First, mention your transducer models and the lowest value you need to check. Then request a quote from Lost in HCM. You can also browse torque testers and calibration systems or contact SMK Vietnam, and Snap-on publishes its tools on snapon.com.
TTC500 wheel: buyer questions
What is the TTC500 maximum in N·m?
About 0.35 N·m. Snap-on rates the wheel at 50 in-oz, and one in-oz equals roughly 0.00706 N·m.
Does the wheel come with weights?
Its catalog entry names only the wheel. Weights, hangers and trays come as separate Snap-on parts or inside the TTCCALKIT.
Is the TTC500 a screwdriver tester?
Not on its own. It is a reference lever for checking low-range transducers, and those transducers then test the screwdrivers.
