Description
Mid-range torque transducers sit in an awkward gap. A long arm feels clumsy at low values, yet a tiny wheel runs out of capacity. The Snap-on TTC1510 calibration wheel fills that gap. It is a 5 in wheel with a 1/4 in square drive, and Snap-on rates it to a maximum of 150 in-lb. So a tool room can hang known weights on it and compare the result with the transducer display.

How the Snap-on TTC1510 calibration wheel works
A cord wraps around the rim and carries a weight hanger. Because the cord always leaves the rim at the same radius, the lever length stays steady while the wheel turns. Torque then equals the hanging weight times that radius. For example, doubling the weight doubles the torque, so the expected value is easy to work out by hand. The transducer reads the load, and you then compare its display with your figure.
The three TTC wheels side by side
| Wheel | Size | Drive | Maximum |
|---|---|---|---|
| TTC500 | 2-1/2 in | 1/4 in | 50 in-oz |
| TTC1510 | 5 in | 1/4 in | 150 in-lb |
| TTC1520 | 10 in butterfly | 1/2 in, with adaptors | 250 ft-lb |
As a result, the TTC1510 sits in the middle of the family. It suits sensors that test click wrenches and drivers in the in-lb band, which is common on electronics and appliance lines. On paper, the TTC65 transducer makes a natural partner, since Snap-on lists it with a 1/4 in drive and a 15 to 150 in-lb range.
What else a deadweight check needs
- Certified weights. Snap-on offers three weight sets and describes them as NIST (NBS) traceable.
- Hangers and trays, such as the 4 oz and 1/2 lb hangers and the 7.5, 15 and 50 lb trays in the catalog.
- A stand that holds the transducer square, for instance the TTC25002 calibration stand kit.
- A record sheet for each check point and its result.
In addition, Snap-on places the TTC1510 in its TTCCALKIT, together with the TTC500, the butterfly wheel, the 40 in arm and weight set 1.
Good habits with the TTC1510
Start with the stand bolted down and the transducer seated firmly. Then wind the cord on cleanly, so it never overlaps itself on the rim. Add each weight slowly, because a swinging hanger adds a brief extra load. Also stay below the 150 in-lb limit at every step. Finally, keep the wheel in a case, since a dented rim changes the lever length.
Ordering the Snap-on TTC1510 calibration wheel
Lost in HCM supplies the TTC1510 to plants in Vietnam and prepares every quote, while SMK Vietnam lists it on their behalf. Tell them which transducers you plan to check, so the quote can cover the right accessories. Request a quote from Lost in HCM, browse torque testers and calibration systems, or contact SMK Vietnam. Common TTC1510 questions
Does the TTC1510 calibrate my transducer by itself?
No. It gives you a known lever for in-house checks. An accredited laboratory still issues the formal calibration certificate for each transducer.
Which drive size does the wheel take?
Snap-on’s torque brochure lists a 1/4 in square drive for the TTC1510.
Can I use it on a 50 in-oz sensor?
You can, but the smaller TTC500 wheel suits that low band better. Snap-on rates it to 50 in-oz.
