Description
A maintenance crew that owns only one 3/8″ torque wrench usually wants this range. The Snap-on TQFRN130B torque wrench covers 25-130 N·m, which spans many machine, vehicle and fixture joints. It is a TQ series click-type wrench with a flex ratchet head and a scale in N·m.

The middle of the N·m range
In ft-lb, 25-130 N·m is about 18-96 ft-lb. So the TQFRN130B takes in many medium bolts on conveyors, motor mounts, jigs and light vehicles. Snap-on’s ±4% rating also starts at 20% of full scale, which here is 26 N·m. So nearly the whole scale is usable at full accuracy. For lighter work, however, the TQFRN68B fits better.
How the split-beam mechanism helps
A classic click wrench compresses a heavy coil spring. In contrast, the TQFRN130B measures with a split beam, so it has fewer moving parts and less friction. You dial the value with a thumb screw and read it in a window. Then a guard holds the setting, while a sealed neck keeps grit out of the mechanism.

Daily care for the TQFRN130B
- Wipe off oil after use, and clean the ratchet with light oil now and then.
- Keep it in its case, because drops can shift the reading.
- Never pull past 130 N·m.
- Pull smoothly and stop at the click, rather than jerking the handle.
Snap-on suggests a calibration check every six months. So add the TQFRN130B to your tool control list with that interval.
