Description
Small fasteners often carry specs in inch-pounds, and a ft-lb scale rounds them off too much. The Snap-on TQFR50C torque wrench reads in in-lb, from 120 to 600. It is a 3/8″ drive TQ series click wrench with a flex head, and it sits at the light end of the family.

Built for small fasteners
The scale moves in 10 in-lb steps, so a spec such as 180 or 250 in-lb lands right on a mark. That suits sensor housings, valve covers, oil pans, small flanges and cover plates. It also fits light brackets and fixture bolts on assembly lines. On top of that, 120 in-lb equals 20% of 600, so every setting on the TQFR50C falls inside the range Snap-on calibrates.

Inch-pounds or foot-pounds?
One ft-lb equals 12 in-lb, so this wrench spans 10 to 50 ft-lb. The real gain shows on odd values. For example, 130 or 170 in-lb fall between marks on a ft-lb tool, yet they sit right on marks here. Therefore, choose the TQFR50C when your spec sheets come in in-lb. In addition, the handle carries an N·m conversion table for metric drawings.
When to step up or down
For targets above 600 in-lb, move to the TQFR100C and its 20-100 ft-lb scale. Below 120 in-lb, however, you need a smaller micro wrench, because the TQFR50C does not go that low.
