Description
Every maintenance crib needs one wrench that covers most daily jobs. For many teams, the Snap-on TECH2FR100 torque wrench fills that role. It drives 3/8-inch sockets from 5 to 100 ft-lb, and its flex head reaches around clutter.

Three readout modes
The Techwrench also gives you three ways to work. In preset mode, you set a target and wait for the tone and handle vibration. Track mode, however, shows torque live as you pull. Peak hold, in contrast, keeps the highest value of the pull, which helps when you audit a joint.
In addition, the handle converts between N·m, ft-lb and in-lb. So a technician can follow a metric manual without a conversion chart.
Snap-on TECH2FR100 torque wrench among the flex-head sizes
| Model | Drive | Top value | Length |
|---|---|---|---|
| TECH1FR240 | 1/4 in | 20 ft-lb (240 in-lb) | 15-1/4 in |
| TECH2FR100 | 3/8 in | 100 ft-lb | 17-1/4 in |
| TECH3FR250 | 1/2 in | 250 ft-lb | 26-1/4 in |
The middle size suits most bench and vehicle work. Its head measures 5/8 inch deep and 1-5/32 inch wide, with 80 teeth and a 4.5° arc. The full range runs 60-1,200 in-lb, or 6.8-135 N·m. Like its siblings, the head also flexes ±15°.
Daily jobs in the 5 to 100 ft-lb band
- Valve covers, oil pans and intake bolts.
- Brake caliper brackets on light vehicles.
- Motor terminal and busbar hardware.
- Pump, fan and compressor housings.
For best accuracy, aim for 20 ft-lb or more. From there to full scale, then, Snap-on quotes ±2% clockwise and ±3% counterclockwise.
Keeping the Snap-on TECH2FR100 torque wrench ready
Snap-on adds a stand on the handle bottom, so the wrench does not roll off a flat bench. The handle also shows a low battery warning and switches off after two minutes idle. Even so, remove the batteries before long storage. For the ratchet itself, Snap-on lists the RKRF80 service kit and the PBTECH2 case.
