Description
Engineers who build prototypes often need a small dial wrench that shows the full climb. The Snap-on TEC6FUA torque wrench is the plain code of such a tool, a 1/4 inch follow-up Torqometer. Its twin, the TEC6FUAC Torqometer listed with a chart, adds paperwork to the same wrench.

Is this Snap-on TEC6FUA torque wrench the chart version?
No. Lost in HCM titles this listing “TORQOMETER U.S./ Metric Follow-up – TEC6FUA”, with no chart in the name. Snap-on’s CAT1500i table for this family says its wrenches ship without a certificate of calibration. Per the Torqometer pages, a C at the end of the stock number marks the certificate models. So the TEC6FUA is the bare tool, while the TEC6FUAC is the documented one.
Does an R&D bench need the TEC6FUA chart code?
Often it does not. Test benches tend to sit near a torque tester, so engineers can verify a new wrench quickly. Also, prototype work rarely faces a customer audit in its early stages. In that setting, the Snap-on TEC6FUA torque wrench saves money for fixtures and adaptors.
Bench cases where the TEC6FUAC earns its chart
- The bench runs qualification builds that a customer will review.
- Test reports must name a documented tool from the first sample.
- Your lab has no tester in this low range, and no outside slot is free.
What does the Snap-on TEC6FUA torque wrench read?
- Inch-pound side: up to 75 in-lb, read in 1 in-lb steps.
- Kilogram side: up to 90 kg·cm, read in 2.5 kg·cm steps.
- Square drive: 1/4 inch, sized for small sockets.
- Body: 9-29/32 in long and 2-11/16 in wide, with a 1-1/4 in head depth excluding the drive.
- Storage: PB9 case.
Snap-on files it under its Standard 2% Accuracy table. The UK brochure defines that grade as within 2% of reading from 20% of full scale to full scale, in both directions. Keep most targets above about 15 in-lb or 18 kg·cm. Note that this row has no signal model, so the TEC6A Basic is the only other dial style.
How should the lab handle the TEC6FUA?
Store the wrench in its case between builds, so it stays clean and safe from knocks. In addition, reset the second needle before each new joint. Snap-on warns users not to exceed rated torque or break fasteners loose. It also says periodic recalibration keeps accuracy. So add the Snap-on TEC6FUA torque wrench to the lab recall list on its first day.
Where do I order the TEC6FUA?
Lost in HCM supplies Snap-on Torqometers in Vietnam and prepares the quote. Put TEC6FUA, without the C, on your request. Then request a quote from Lost in HCM, browse other torque wrenches, or contact SMK Vietnam if you are unsure about the size.
Prototype bench FAQ
How do 90 kg·cm compare with N·m?
90 kg·cm is about 8.8 N·m, because one kg·cm is close to 0.098 N·m.
Can the TEC6FUA turn a 3/8 inch socket?
Only through a suitable adaptor, because the wrench has a 1/4 inch square drive. For bigger joints, a 3/8 inch TEC model fits better.
