Description
Bottle plants in Hai Duong, Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau form beer, soft drink and food jars around the clock. Their IS machines, conveyors and lehrs therefore rarely stop, except for a job change or a planned repair. The Snap-on TE250FUC torque wrench gives fitters a U.S.-reading dial with two needles for that work.

Job changes on the IS machine
An IS machine forms bottles in several sections side by side. When the plant switches to a new bottle, crews change molds, holders and mechanisms on each section. So a crew may tighten the same joint many times in one shift. With the TE250FUC, one needle marks the targeted torque and the other holds the torque achieved.

Snap-on prints this row in its US Reading/Standard 2% Accuracy table. On the same page, the catalog also says to add a C suffix to the stock number for the certificate of calibration model. Lost in HCM titles the TE250FUC with Chart, so ask what paperwork comes with it.
Glass plant joints for the Snap-on TE250FUC torque wrench
- Mold holder, arm and mechanism bolts on IS machine sections, within range.
- Gearbox, motor and frame bolts on cold end conveyors.
- Belt drive and roller bearing bolts on annealing lehrs.
The IS machine maker sets the values, and some joints call for special tools. So check the manual first, and keep the dial for joints that list a torque in its band.
Heat at the hot end
The hot end can run far above 100 °F, the top of Snap-on’s 0 to 100 °F operating range for its dial wrenches. Therefore store the TE250FUC in a cool tool room and carry it in for the job. Next, let hot holders and arms cool where the work plan allows.
Grade and units
Lost in HCM files this wrench under US Reading/Standard 2% Accuracy. In Snap-on’s terms, Standard holds within 2% of reading from 20% of full scale to full scale. On the TE250FUC, that span begins at 50 ft-lb. Metric sheets need a quick conversion, because one ft-lb is about 1.356 N·m.
Swab oil, glass dust and storage
Swabbing oil and glass dust collect on every tool near the forming machines. So wipe the TE250FUC after each job change, and return it to its PB8A case. Never use it to free a stuck holder bolt. Plan recalibration with an outside lab on a fixed cycle, because Snap-on says regular recalibration keeps a Torqometer accurate.
