Description
Slewing rings on cranes and excavators, anchor bolts under presses and big flange joints often carry 60 mm nuts. The Snap-on QZOM60A open end head lets a Z-shank torque body reach those nuts from the side. So you can still set a controlled value when a long stud stops a socket from dropping on.

What we can confirm about the QZOM60A
- Jaw opening: 60 mm, open end.
- Shank: Z (0.990 in per the Snap-on catalog).
- Fastener center to retaining pin: 5.75 in for the QZOM series.
- Pin style: the part number has no DP suffix, unlike the dual-pin Z heads.
Snap-on’s CAT1500i table for 60 mm shows the QYOM60A, QXOM60A and QZOM60ADP, but not the QZOM60A. Therefore we do not quote a torque rating for it here.
Single pin or dual pin on a Z body
The suffix matters more than it looks. In the same catalog, the QD dual-range body table carries the note “for use with dual pin heads only”, and its Z body is the QD4IN800A. As a result, a QZOM60A without the DP suffix may not suit every Z body. Tell Lost in HCM which body you own, so they can confirm the fit before you order.
Jobs that call for the Snap-on QZOM60A open end head
Large nuts rarely sit in open space. For example, a slewing-ring bolt may hide under a deck plate, and an anchor nut may sit beside a column web. In those spots, the open jaw slides onto two flats while the body stays clear. However, two flats carry the whole load, so square the QZOM60A fully on the nut before each pull. Also pull smoothly, because a jerk can make the jaw ride up the corners.
When another 60 mm head makes more sense
Pick the shank first, then the head. If your plant runs Y or X bodies, the QYOM60A or QXOM60A saves you buying a new handle. On the other hand, if you own a dual-pin Z body, the QZOM60ADP carries a published 480 ft-lb rating. The Snap-on QZOM60A open end head suits teams that need a single-pin Z head, once Lost in HCM confirms its limits.
Looking after a heavy QZOM60A
Check the jaw gap on a known 60 mm nut every few months. Then clean the shank and pin bore, so the QZOM60A seats square in the body. Finally, store it flat in a padded drawer, because a drop can damage the jaw.

QZOM60A buyer questions
Is the QZOM60A the same part as the QZOM60ADP?
No. The DP suffix marks Snap-on’s dual-pin heads, and only the QZOM60ADP appears in the catalog table at 60 mm.
What torque can the QZOM60A carry?
We could not confirm a published rating for this exact part. So Lost in HCM will state it in your quote.
Should I buy the QZOM60A or a 60 mm socket?
Choose the open end when a long stud or a pipe passes through the nut. If the top is clear, a socket on a square drive head grips all six flats.
