Description
A 41 mm hex usually means M27 hardware. Yet not every M27 part carries a heavy spec. The Snap-on QYOM41 open end head handles the moderate ones on a Y-shank (0.560 in) body. So a technician can torque a 41 mm lock nut without hauling out a Z wrench.

The lightest Snap-on shank at 41 mm
CAT1500i lists no J head at 41 mm. Instead, the row starts with the QYOM41 on the Y shank at 160 ft-lb, about 217 N·m. Next comes the QXOM41A on the X shank at 240 ft-lb. Finally, the dual-pin QZOM41ADP on the Z shank reaches 480 ft-lb. All three share an 83 mm width and an 18 mm depth.
Is 160 ft-lb enough for your 41 mm part?
Read the joint spec before anything else. Many steel M27 bolts in structural or machine work need more than 160 ft-lb. In that case, step up to the X or Z head. However, jam nuts on adjusting rods, large fittings and gland nuts often sit lower. For those, the QYOM41 gives a lighter, shorter setup.
Y bodies and the Snap-on QYOM41 open end head
CAT1500i offers three Y bodies, and two of them never pass the head limit. To start, the QC3P150 presets between 30 and 150 ft-lb. Second, the QD3IN200B adjusts from 37 to 140 ft-lb, or 40 to 200 N·m. Third, the QC3P200 reaches 200 ft-lb, so cap it at 160 ft-lb with this head. Also, every QYOM head keeps a 3.00 in pin-to-fastener distance.
Planning space for an 83 mm head
The QYOM41 is wide, even on a mid-size shank. Therefore, measure the gap on each side of the nut. An 18 mm depth also needs a full hex land. If space is tight, a 41 mm socket on a square-drive adaptor may fit better.

Y-shank 41 mm jaw: quick answers
Does Snap-on make a 41 mm J-shank open end head?
Not in CAT1500i. The 41 mm row starts at the Y-shank QYOM41.
How does the QYOM41 compare with the QXOM41A?
Both measure 83 mm across and 18 mm deep. The X head carries 240 ft-lb, while the QYOM41 carries 160 ft-lb.
Can I use the QYOM41 on a QC3P200 at 200 ft-lb?
No. Keep the setting at 160 ft-lb or less, since that is the head limit.
