Description
Big jam nuts often sit tight against a second nut, so a socket cannot slide on. The Snap-on QYO64ARTH open end head reaches them from the side with a thin 2 in jaw. It mounts on a Y (0.560 in) shank and carries a 160 ft-lb working limit. As a result, you can torque large lock nuts on cylinders and shafts with a known ceiling.

QYO64ARTH data
- Opening: 2 in (about 50.8 mm), thin open end
- Shank: Y (0.560 in)
- Maximum working torque: 160 ft-lb (about 217 N·m)
- Pin to fastener center: 3.00 in (QYO series)
Two 2 in heads: Y or J
Snap-on makes the 2 in thin jaw on both shanks. The QJO64ARTH sits on a J shank and stops at 60 ft-lb. The QYO64ARTH, however, raises that limit to 160 ft-lb on the Y shank. So a large nut that needs more than 60 ft-lb points straight to the Y version. Also note the spacing, since QJO heads use 2.50 in and QYO heads use 3.00 in.
Where the Snap-on QYO64ARTH open end head sits in the Y range
The Y thin range runs from 1-1/2 in to 2-1/4 in, all at 160 ft-lb. Just below, the QYO60ARTH opens to 1-7/8 in. Just above, the QYO68ARTH takes 2-1/8 in nuts. Therefore, check the flats with a caliper before you order, because these steps sit close together.
Bodies that drive the QYO64ARTH
Y-shank bodies include the QD3IN200B dual-range model at 37-140 ft-lb. The QC3P150 and QC3P200 presets also use a Y shank, and the QC3P200 scale reaches 200 ft-lb. In addition, the CTECH2Y100A electronic wrench covers 5-100 ft-lb. So match the body range to your joint, then keep the setting at or below 160 ft-lb.
Good habits with a thin jaw
Slide the QYO64ARTH jaw fully onto the flats before you pull, because a shallow grip can spread it. Then pull at a right angle to the handle and stop at the signal. Never use the wrench to free a seized nut. Finally, recalibrate the body on a regular plan, as Snap-on advises.
Ordering the Snap-on QYO64ARTH open end head
SMK Vietnam lists this head, while Lost in HCM supplies it and quotes it. Send them the nut size, joint torque and body model. Then request a quote from Lost in HCM for the 2 in Y head. You can also open torque wrench heads and adaptors or contact SMK Vietnam.
Questions on the QYO64ARTH
Is the QYO64ARTH a 2 in square drive?
No. The 2 in figure is the jaw opening. Snap-on files it under thin open end heads, so it takes no sockets.
How does it compare with the QJO64ARTH?
Both open to 2 in. The QJO64ARTH has a J shank and a 60 ft-lb limit, while this Y head allows 160 ft-lb.
What nut fits a 2 in jaw?
A 1-1/4 in heavy hex nut to ASME B18.2.2 measures 2 in across flats, for example.
