Description
DIN 934 nuts and DIN 933 bolts in size M14 carry a 22 mm hex. Many 22 mm fittings and sensor bodies turn up on European and Japanese machines as well. The Snap-on QXXM22A box end head brings that size to an X-shank torque body. In Snap-on’s UK brochure, it fills the X column of the 22 mm row.

The partner page for this part carries a spec table that does not match the part number. It describes a 30 mm ring on a Z shank, with Z-series reach and a matching rating. By contrast, Snap-on’s brochure lists the QXXM22A as a 22 mm ring on an X shank. Because the two disagree, we show no rating, width or depth here. Instead, ask Lost in HCM to confirm which head they will ship and its limit.
Where a 22 mm X ring fits the job
The X shank is the step up from J and Y for firm M14 specs. It also gives a longer handle, which helps when the joint sits deep inside a frame. For example, gearbox covers, pump feet and press tooling often use M14 hardware, and the Snap-on QXXM22A box end head can serve them. Check whether those parts follow ISO or DIN, though. ISO 4032 gives M14 a 21 mm hex, so a 22 mm ring would sit loose on it.
X wrench bodies for the QXXM22A
- QD3IN350A dual scale: 70-350 N·m, or 59-251 ft-lb, on a 23 in tube.
- QC4P300 preset: 60-300 ft-lb on a 27 in tube, good for one fixed value per station.
- CTECH3X250A ControlTech: 12.5-250 ft-lb, with a stored factor for head length.
Any of these can read above the ring limit. Therefore, cap the setting at the figure Lost in HCM confirms for the QXXM22A.
Lighter rings at 22 mm
Snap-on’s brochure also lists a J ring (QJXM22A) and a Y ring (QYXM22A) at 22 mm. Those suit low values and short tools. So if your M14 spec is modest, one of them may fit better than the QXXM22A.
Confirming the QXXM22A with Lost in HCM
SMK Vietnam lists this head, and Lost in HCM supplies it and prepares each price. Quote the part number, your X body and the M14 spec when you request a quote from Lost in HCM. Ask them to confirm the opening and shank in writing, too. For the J and Y versions, browse torque wrench heads and adaptors, or contact SMK Vietnam if you want a second opinion.
Common QXXM22A queries
Why does the partner listing show a 30 mm Z-shank head?
Its spec table appears to describe another part. Snap-on’s brochure lists the QXXM22A as a 22 mm ring on an X shank, so confirm with Lost in HCM.
Does a 22 mm ring fit ISO M14 bolts?
Not well. ISO 4032 gives M14 a 21 mm hex, while DIN 934 uses 22 mm. Measure the flats first.
Which X body gives an electronic reading?
The CTECH3X250A ControlTech, which covers 12.5-250 ft-lb.
