Description
On a production line, one torque value often repeats all shift. The Snap-on QXOM32A open end head lets an X-shank (0.735 in) preset wrench apply that value to a 32 mm hex from the side. So operators can torque a nut on a rod or behind a pipe without a socket.

A preset X body with the Snap-on QXOM32A open end head
CAT1500i lists two X-shank bodies. The QC4P300 is a preset model with a 60 to 300 ft-lb range and a 27 in length. Because it holds one setting, it suits repeat assembly. The QD3IN350A, by contrast, adjusts from 70 to 350 N·m, or 59 to 251 ft-lb, and measures 23 in. Therefore, pick the preset for a fixed spec and the QD3IN350A for varied upkeep work with the QXOM32A.
DIN M22 nuts and other 32 mm parts
DIN 934 and older JIS tables give the M22 nut a 32 mm hex. ISO 4032, however, uses 34 mm for M22. So check which standard your machine follows before you order the QXOM32A. In addition, 32 mm flats appear on hydraulic adapters and valve bodies. For example, a lock nut on a press tie rod may need this size.
Why no rating appears for the Snap-on QXOM32A open end head
Snap-on’s industrial catalog and its UK brochure each give this head a different torque ceiling. Rather than pick one, we omit the figure. Lost in HCM confirms the limit when it quotes. Meanwhile, both sources agree on the size: 65 mm across and 14 mm deep, with a 4.50 in pin-to-fastener distance.
When to move to the Z head
For heavier 32 mm joints, Snap-on offers the dual-pin QZOM32ADP on the Z shank. Both sources rate that size at about 480 ft-lb. However, it needs the much larger QD4IN800A body, which runs 41-1/2 in long. So keep the Snap-on QXOM32A open end head for mid-range specs and the Z head for the top end.

X-shank 32 mm FAQ
Does the QXOM32A fit an ISO M22 nut?
No. ISO 4032 gives M22 a 34 mm hex. The 32 mm jaw suits DIN 934 M22 nuts instead.
Can the QXOM32A go on a QC3P200?
No. The QC3P200 takes Y-shank heads only. Use an X body such as the QC4P300 or the QD3IN350A.
Which X body is better for a fixed spec?
The QC4P300 preset holds one value, so operators cannot drift from it. Choose the adjustable QD3IN350A when specs change from job to job.
