Description
M12 nuts on European and older Japanese machines often carry a 19 mm hex. The Snap-on QXOM19A open end head reaches them from the side on an X-shank (0.735 in) torque wrench. As a result, a crew with X bodies can cover M12 work without a second wrench system.

Same 138 ft-lb as the Y head
At 19 mm, Snap-on gives the X and Y heads the same limit. CAT1500i prints 138 ft-lb for both, while the UK brochure lists 1,650 in-lb, which matches. So the X shank adds no torque at this size. Instead, it adds fit with the X bodies you may already own. If you run Y bodies, the QYOM19A does the same job as the QXOM19A.
X wrenches for the Snap-on QXOM19A open end head
- QD3IN350A: adjustable, 70 to 350 N·m (59 to 251 ft-lb), 23 in
- QC4P300: preset, 60 to 300 ft-lb, 27 in
Both bodies reach well past 138 ft-lb. Therefore, the head limit sets your ceiling, about 187 N·m. Also note the low ends. Neither body reads below about 59 ft-lb, so lighter M12 specs need a J or Y setup.
M12 nuts: DIN, JIS and ISO sizes
DIN 934 and the older JIS nut table give M12 a 19 mm hex. ISO 4032, however, uses 18 mm. So check each machine before you count on the Snap-on QXOM19A open end head. For example, a Japanese conveyor frame may use 19 mm nuts, while a newer ISO part may use 18 mm. For those, Snap-on also makes an 18 mm X head, the QXOM18A.
Size note and safe use of the Snap-on QXOM19A open end head
Snap-on’s two sources print different outside and depth figures for the QXOM19A. So we leave both out; measure the space beside the nut instead. Its pin sits 4.50 in from the fastener center, like every X head. In use, seat the jaw fully, pull steadily and stop at the click.

19 mm X-head FAQ
Why pick the X head if the Y head has the same limit?
Pick it when your crew already uses X bodies. Otherwise, the QYOM19A on a Y body gives the same 138 ft-lb.
Does the QXOM19A suit ISO M12 nuts?
No. ISO 4032 M12 nuts use an 18 mm hex. The QXOM19A suits DIN 934 and older JIS M12 nuts.
Can the QXOM19A work at 50 ft-lb?
Not well with an X body. Both X bodies start near 60 ft-lb, so use a J or Y body for that value.
