A maintenance cart rarely has room for three torque wrenches. If yours already holds an X-shank body for large fittings, the Snap-on QXOM18A open end head lets that same body reach 18 mm nuts. That size matches the ISO 4032 M12 nut, one of the most common joints on a machine frame.

CAT1500i prints 115 ft-lb for the QXOM18A. The UK torque brochure lists 1,375 in-lb, which also works out to about 115 ft-lb. So the limit is firm, at roughly 156 N·m. Meanwhile, the Y-shank QYOM18A carries the same figure in both books.

In other words, the QXOM18A covers M12 specs from about 60 to 115 ft-lb. Below that band, neither X body can even reach the value.
When to leave the QXOM18A off the X kit
Light 18 mm specs fall under the X floor. In that case, a Y body makes more sense. The QD3IN200B reads 37 to 140 ft-lb, and with the QYOM18A it covers 37 to 115 ft-lb. For specs lighter still, a J body and the QJOM18A take over. In short, buy the QXOM18A when the spec sits high and the X body already rides on the cart.
Fit and swing room for the QXOM18A
The two Snap-on sources put the head at about 37 mm across. However, they print different depths, so ask Lost in HCM for the exact figure if the hex land is short. The pin sits 4.50 in from the fastener center. Because the QD3IN350A runs 23 in long, check the swing room behind the nut as well.

Not on an X body, because both X wrenches start near 60 ft-lb. Use a Y or J kit for that spec.

It does not. Both Snap-on sources give the QXOM18A and the QYOM18A the same 18 mm rating.
Is 18 mm the DIN size for M12?
No, DIN 934 uses 19 mm for M12, while ISO 4032 uses 18 mm. So measure the nut before ordering the QXOM18A.
