Description

Fourteen millimeters is one of the most common bolt sizes on metric machinery. The Snap-on QJXM14A box end head lets a small torque wrench body tighten those bolts with a full ring grip. It suits spots where a socket stack is too tall, such as under a cover or beside a flange.

QJXM14A specs from Snap-on

  • Opening: 14 mm, 12-point box end.
  • Shank: J (0.425 in), so it fits the smallest interchangeable bodies.
  • Outside diameter: 21 mm.
  • Head depth: 9 mm.
  • Fastener center to retaining pin: 2.50 in, the standard J spacing.

Snap-on’s UK torque brochure lists these values in its 12-point box end head table.

Which bodies accept the Snap-on QJXM14A box end head?

Any Snap-on body with a J shank will take it. On SMK Vietnam, for example, that covers the QD2IN50A and QD2IN100A dual-range bodies, plus the QC2I75 and QC1I200 adjustable bodies. It also covers J-shank electronic models such as the CTECH1J240A, CTECHL1J240A and TECH1J240. Because the head keeps the standard 2.50 in spacing, Snap-on’s dual-range QD bodies need no adjustment calculation with it.

Choosing a 14 mm head

Start with access. A 12-point ring like the QJXM14A works well when the nut sits on a stud you can reach from above. If a flange or a casting blocks your hand, however, look at the 10° offset QJXBM14A, which Snap-on also lists in J shank. Then check torque. Ask Lost in HCM to confirm the head rating, and keep your target below it.

Keeping the QJXM14A accurate

Wipe oil off the Snap-on QJXM14A box end head before use, so the ring does not slip on the corners. Also check the pin and the shank bore for wear, because play there can shift the reading. Finally, send the body for periodic calibration, as Snap-on advises for all its torque tools.

Order the Snap-on QJXM14A box end head

SMK Vietnam lists the head, and our partner Lost in HCM supplies it and quotes it. Include your body model, so Lost in HCM can confirm the J-shank match.
