Description
M6 is everywhere on electrical cabinets, sensor brackets and machine covers. Its standard hex measures 10 mm, and the Snap-on QJXM10A box end head grips that size with a closed 12-point ring. The ring sits on the compact J shank (0.425 in), so it suits small, light bodies.

What the brochure says about the QJXM10A
Snap-on’s UK torque brochure rates this ring at 630 in-lb, which is about 52.5 ft-lb or 71 N·m. The partner listing gives the same figure in rounded form. The ring measures 15 mm across and 7 mm deep. In addition, the J series puts the fastener center 2.50 in from the retaining pin. At 10 mm, Snap-on offers this ring on the J shank only.
The head is rarely the limit on M6
Most M6 specs sit far below 630 in-lb. So the real question is which J body reads your value inside its accurate band. Snap-on states accuracy from 20 to 100% of full scale, which gives these working bands:
| J body | Range | Accurate from |
|---|---|---|
| CTECH1J240A | 12-240 in-lb | about 48 in-lb |
| QC1P300 preset | 60-300 in-lb | 60 in-lb |
| QC1I200 adjustable | 40-200 in-lb | 40 in-lb |
| QD2IN50A | 10-50 N·m | 10 N·m |
All four stay below the ring rating at full scale. By contrast, the QD2IN100A and the QC2 bodies reach 75 ft-lb or 100 N·m. Those can pass 630 in-lb, so cap the setting if you fit the QJXM10A to them.
Using the Snap-on QJXM10A box end head on small hardware
The 15 mm ring needs only about 7.5 mm from the bolt center to a wall. Therefore it slides between terminal rows and close cover bolts where a socket stack would not fit. Seat the ring fully, then pull slowly, because a short J body reaches its value fast. Also keep a separate wrench for loosening, since Snap-on warns against breaking fasteners loose with these heads.
Where SMK buyers get the Snap-on QJXM10A box end head
SMK Vietnam lists this ring for Lost in HCM, which supplies it and quotes each order. List your J body, the M6 value and how many stations need the head. Then request a quote from Lost in HCM. Other small rings sit under torque wrench heads and adaptors, or contact SMK Vietnam.
