Description
Some 26 mm parts need only a gentle, repeatable torque. Think of a sensor body, a sight glass or a brass union on a coolant line. The Snap-on QJOM26A open end head puts a 26 mm jaw on the J shank (0.425 in), the smallest fitting in the range. So a short, light J wrench can do the job instead of a heavy body.

Size and reach of the QJOM26A
Both CAT1500i and the UK torque brochure list this head at 53 mm across and 11 mm deep. Its retaining pin sits 2.50 in from the fastener center, the standard spacing for QJOM heads. Because the J shank is thin, the whole tool stays compact around crowded pipework.
A light J body for the Snap-on QJOM26A open end head
| Body | Type | Range | Length |
|---|---|---|---|
| QC2I75 | Adjustable | 5 to 75 ft-lb | 13 in |
| QC2P75 | Preset | 5 to 75 ft-lb | 11 in |
| QD2IN100A | Adjustable, N·m and ft-lb | 20 to 100 N·m | 14-1/2 in |
| QD2IN50A | Adjustable, N·m and ft-lb | 10 to 50 N·m | 14-1/2 in |
For very low specs, CAT1500i also shows in-lb J bodies, such as the QC1I200 at 40 to 200 in-lb. In addition, the catalog notes that preset bodies come without a calibration certificate, while the QD models include one.
Why we leave out the QJOM26A rating
The two Snap-on sources print different maximum working torques for this jaw. CAT1500i shows one value, and the UK brochure shows a higher one. Rather than guess, we omit both. So ask Lost in HCM to confirm the limit with your quote, then keep the body setting at or under it.
Snap-on QJOM26A open end head or a heavier shank?
The 26 mm row also includes Y, X and Z heads. Each one needs a body with the same shank, so a new head often means a new wrench. However, if your spec sits above the 75 ft-lb ceiling of the J bodies, you must step up. For example, the QYOM26A pairs with the 23 in Y bodies. Below that ceiling, the Snap-on QJOM26A open end head and a J body make a lighter kit to carry along a line.

Questions on the 26 mm J jaw
Will the QJOM26A fit a QC3P150?
No. The QC3P150 has a Y shank, while the QJOM26A has a J shank. Shanks never cross over.
Is 26 mm a standard nut size?
Not for common ISO 4032 or DIN 934 coarse nuts. So a 26 mm hex usually means a fitting, a union or a special part. Measure it with a caliper first.
Can the QJOM26A free a stuck union?
No. CAT1500i tells users not to break fasteners loose with these bodies. Loosen the union with a plain spanner first.
