Description
At 24 mm, Snap-on makes an open end head for every shank: J, Y, X and Z. The Snap-on QJOM24A open end head is the lightest of the four. So it suits 24 mm parts that need care rather than force, such as lock nuts on threaded rods or tube nuts on thin lines.

Four shanks, one 24 mm opening
CAT1500i prints a full 24 mm row, from the QJOM24A to the dual-pin QZOM24ADP. All four share a 49 mm width and an 11 mm depth. What changes is the shank, the pin distance and the load each head can take. Therefore, choose by the body you own and the joint value, not by the jaw.
- QJOM24A: J shank, pin 2.50 in from the fastener center.
- QYOM24A: Y shank, 3.00 in.
- QXOM24A: X shank, 4.50 in.
- QZOM24ADP: Z shank with dual pins, 5.75 in.
Where the QJOM24A limit stands
The two Snap-on books disagree on the J rating at 24 mm, so we quote no figure here. Instead, pick a body whose scale sits under both printed values. The QD2IN50A reads 10 to 50 N·m (9.2 to 35.0 ft-lb), and it passes that test. The QC2P75, QC2I75 and QD2IN100A reach higher. In that case, confirm the head limit with Lost in HCM before you use their top range.
24 mm parts for the Snap-on QJOM24A open end head
ISO 4032 and DIN 934 both use 24 mm for the M16 nut. However, a fully loaded steel M16 joint often needs more than any J head should take. So the Snap-on QJOM24A open end head fits lighter work, such as M16 lock nuts on adjusters and soft-metal parts. ISO 8434-1 also gives the 12S tube nut a 24 mm hex. For example, the jaw can reach a 12S nut on a test-bench line while the tube stays in place.
Fit check before ordering the QJOM24A
A 49 mm head needs roughly twice the hex width to swing. Then add the J body length, from 11 in on the QC2P75 to 14-1/2 in on the QD models. Also make sure the hex land is tall enough for an 11 mm jaw. If a lock nut is thin, the jaw may ride on the next part.
Send your J body details with the Snap-on QJOM24A open end head request
SMK Vietnam lists the QJOM24A, and Lost in HCM supplies it and writes the quote. Request a quote from Lost in HCM with your J body model, the quantity and the joint value. The heavier 24 mm jaws sit under torque wrench heads and adaptors, and you can contact SMK Vietnam for help choosing.
Before you buy the QJOM24A: short answers
Will the QJOM24A fit a JIS M16 nut?
Yes, if the nut has the usual 24 mm hex. ISO, DIN and older JIS tables agree at M16, so measure only worn or special parts.
Can I put the QJOM24A on a Y body?
No. A J shank only seats in a J socket, so a Y wrench needs the QYOM24A instead.
Is the 24 mm jaw the same size on every shank?
Yes. CAT1500i gives the whole 24 mm row 49 mm across and 11 mm deep, so clearance stays the same when you change shank.
