Description
A 2 in jaw on a light J-shank body sounds like a mismatch. Yet many large nuts need only a gentle, measured torque. Packing glands, lock rings and jam nuts on big adjusters are good examples. The Snap-on QJO64ARTH open end head serves those jobs. It pairs a thin 2 in jaw with a J (0.425 in) shank and a 60 ft-lb working limit.

Snap-on QJO64ARTH open end head numbers
| Opening | 2 in |
|---|---|
| Style | Thin open end head |
| Shank | J (0.425 in) |
| Max working torque | 60 ft-lb (about 81 N·m) |
| Center of fastener to retaining pin | 2.50 in (QJO series) |
The partner title calls this a 2 in square drive. However, Snap-on’s thin open end table on page 342 shows that 2 in is the jaw opening.
J or Y at the 2 in size
Snap-on makes a Y-shank thin head with the same opening, the QYO64ARTH. It carries 160 ft-lb against 60 ft-lb for the QJO64ARTH, and its spacing is 3.00 in instead of 2.50 in. So the choice rests on the target torque. At or under 60 ft-lb, this head lets you use a lighter J body. Above that, the Y version is the safer pick.
Neighbors in the J thin range
Near 2 in, the J thin series also offers 1-7/8 in (QJO60ARTH) and 2-1/16 in (QJO66ARTH). Next comes 2-1/8 in (QJO68ARTH), and every one of them shares the 60 ft-lb limit. Therefore, measure the flats with a caliper before you order the QJO64ARTH. A loose jaw can round a soft brass or alloy nut.
Light-torque jobs for a 2 in jaw
Pump packing nuts need even, modest torque so the gland seals without crushing the packing. Lock rings on bearing housings behave the same way. In addition, jam nuts on large adjusters need a steady value rather than brute force. In each case, the thin QJO64ARTH jaw slides onto the nut from the side, even with little room above it.
Bodies and setup for the Snap-on QJO64ARTH open end head
Page 339 lists J bodies such as the QC2I75, adjustable from 5 to 75 ft-lb. The QC2P75 preset covers the same span. Because the head caps at 60 ft-lb, set the body at or below that value. A footnote on page 342 also limits some heads to the QC1P100 and QC1I200 bodies. Yet the text layer does not show which heads. So ask Lost in HCM to confirm the pairing for this part.
How to get a QJO64ARTH quote
Lost in HCM supplies this head and sends every quote; SMK Vietnam only lists it. Share your body model and the nut size with them. After that, ask Lost in HCM for a QJO64ARTH quote. For other jaw sizes, open torque wrench heads and adaptors, or contact SMK Vietnam for help.
Common QJO64ARTH questions
What hardware takes a 2 in wrench?
Under ASME B18.2.2, a heavy hex nut for a 1-1/4 in thread measures 2 in across flats. Still, measure first, because a 50 mm metric nut is close but not equal.
Is 60 ft-lb enough for my job?
It suits packing, lock rings and light adjusters. For higher specs, choose the Y-shank QYO64ARTH at 160 ft-lb.
How many N·m is the limit?
About 81 N·m, from 60 ft-lb times 1.356.
