Description
A 1 in nut on a pipe union or an adjusting rod often has a second nut tight behind it. The Snap-on QJO32ARTH open end head reaches it with thin jaws that slide on from the side. Then a J-shank click wrench can bring it to a set torque of up to 60 ft-lb.

Square drive or open end? Reading the QJO32ARTH listing
The partner listing title calls this part a 1 in square drive head. However, Snap-on’s catalog places the QJO32ARTH in its thin open end table, with a 1 in opening. So treat it as a wrench jaw, not a socket drive. For a 1/2 in socket drive on a J body, look at the QJD16A instead.
Snap-on QJO32ARTH open end head versus a 1 in flare nut head
An open jaw bears on two flats of the nut. In contrast, Snap-on’s 1 in flare nut head, the J-shank QJRXS32A, grips six flats at the same 60 ft-lb. Therefore, choose the flare nut head for soft tube nuts. Choose the QJO32ARTH for thin lock nuts, or where only a slim jaw fits. For more torque on tube nuts, the Y-shank QYRXS32A carries 158 ft-lb.
Openings near the QJO32ARTH
Snap-on’s thin J table jumps from 11/16 in (QJO22ARTH60) straight to 1 in. Above it come 1-1/16 in (QJO34ARTH) and 1-1/8 in (QJO36ARTH). Also note that 1 in equals 25.4 mm. So do not press this head onto a 25 mm or 26 mm metric nut.
J bodies for the QJO32ARTH
The QD2IN50A dual-range body tops out at 35 ft-lb, well inside the head rating. The QD2IN100A reaches 71.9 ft-lb, and the QC2I75 reaches 75 ft-lb. With either of those, hold the setting at 60 ft-lb or less. Also, never use the head to break a nut loose, since open jaws can spread.
