Description
Large click wrenches need a tester that can take a real pull, so a light bench unit will not do. The Snap-on QC3DTT250 torque tester handles 25 to 250 ft-lb, or about 34 to 339 N·m. It also belongs to Snap-on’s DTT series of portable digital testers.

Four test modes in the Snap-on QC3DTT250 torque tester
- Click Adjust captures the first peak, just before the torque drops as a click wrench breaks.
- Track shows the torque at every moment of the pull.
- Dial/Elec holds the peak for dial and electronic wrenches.
- Screwdriver holds the peak for torque-limiting screwdrivers.
According to Snap-on’s manual, each mode reads in both directions.
Accuracy and units
Snap-on rates the QC3DTT250 at ±0.5% of the indicated value, from 10% to 100% of capacity, in both directions. So it leaves a clear margin when you check wrenches with wider tolerances. The display can show ft-lb, in-lb, N·m and several other units, although some depend on the range.
Built for portable checks
The QC3DTT250 runs on its AC adapter or on six AA batteries. As a result, a technician can carry it to a line, a site or a vehicle bay. The display sits on a swivel neck, so you can read it from any angle. In addition, a USB jack lets you upload torque data to a computer. An audible alert also sounds when the reading hits the target torque.
Mounting and safe loads
Bolt the mounting plate to a sturdy support with four M6 bolts before use. Snap-on also warns against side loads on the transducer. In fact, the transducer can withstand 125% of its rated capacity. Still, stop using the tester if anyone over-torques it or it fails to zero.
Where the QC3DTT250 earns its place
- Tool cribs that issue mid-size and large click wrenches.
- Heavy equipment and truck service bays.
- Wind and power maintenance teams that check wrenches before a climb.
- Supplier audits where you need to verify a wrench on site.
