Description
The Snap-on QC2P75 torque wrench body brings ft-lb values to the compact J-shank head system. Snap-on lists it as a preset QC series body with a 5 to 75 ft-lb range, or 7 to 100 N·m, and an 11 in length. Among the preset bodies in its brochure, it is the longest one that still takes J heads. So a single station can torque brackets, covers and fittings with small heads.

Where the QC2P75 accuracy band starts
Snap-on states QC accuracy from 20% of full scale up to full scale. For this body, 20% of 75 ft-lb is 15 ft-lb. Therefore, settings between 5 and 15 ft-lb fall below that band, even though the body can hold them. In practice, choose the QC2P75 when your target sits between about 15 and 75 ft-lb. For a lower target, the QC1P300 often puts the value in a better spot.
Picking J heads for the QC2P75
The J shank measures 0.425 in. Snap-on’s ratcheting square drive heads for J bodies come in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 in drive. In addition, open-end and box-end heads let the same body reach tube nuts and recessed bolts. On standard QJD heads, the fastener sits 2.50 in from the retaining pin, while QJD-SL heads use 3.5 in. Because head length affects the torque at the fastener, set the body with the head it will carry. Also read the head tables, since Snap-on prints a maximum recommended working torque beside many heads.
Typical QC2P75 stations
- Engine accessory brackets and cover bolts on car and motorcycle lines.
- Hydraulic fittings on compact machinery, with an open-end head.
- Motor mounts and pump bases in appliance and HVAC assembly.
- Busbar and lug bolts in switchgear production.
Setting and checking a QC2P75
A preset body offers no scale to the operator. Instead, your tool room or calibration provider sets it on a torque tester, following Snap-on’s procedure, and locks the value. After that, a regular check on the tester confirms the value still holds. Also tag each body with its value and station, so it returns to the right place.

QC2P75 FAQ
Does the QC2P75 take Y-shank heads?
No. Snap-on’s preset body table lists a J shank of 0.425 in, the same as the smaller in-lb preset bodies.
What does 75 ft-lb equal in metric units?
It comes to roughly 100 N·m, which matches the 7-100 N·m range that Snap-on prints.
Can the operator change the setting?
Not at the station, because the body carries no adjustment scale. That is the point of a preset body on a line.
