Most 9 x 12 mm torque wrenches work on small and mid-size bolts, yet many plants keep their sockets in 1/2 in drive. The Snap-on IZSRAT9X12 ratchet insert bridges that gap. It slides into the 9 x 12 mm receiver and gives the wrench a 1/2 in ratcheting square drive. So your existing 1/2 in sockets work on the small-receiver body.

Three drives on the 9 x 12 mm fitting
Snap-on offers three ratchet inserts for this receiver. The IZTRAT9X12 has a 1/4 in drive and a 25 N·m limit. Next, the IZFRAT9X12 moves to 3/8 in at 160 N·m. Then the IZSRAT9X12 keeps that 160 N·m figure but steps up to 1/2 in. Therefore, the choice comes down to your sockets, not the rating.
When the wrench, not the Snap-on IZSRAT9X12 ratchet insert, sets the limit
The CTECHAN135A ControlTech wrench uses a 9 x 12 mm receiver and reads 6.8-135.0 N·m. So the insert has more capacity than that body can measure. In practice, 135 N·m becomes your ceiling. The CTECHAN30A and CTECHANM30 stop at 30 N·m, by contrast. For those light bodies, a 1/4 in or 3/8 in insert usually suits the small fasteners better.
