Many metric brake and fluid pipe nuts use an 11 mm hex, and a ring head cannot drop over them because the pipe runs through the nut. The Snap-on IZ11OE9X12 torque insert reaches such nuts with an 11 mm OE head on a 9 x 12 mm fitting. So a technician can torque the union on a calibrated body rather than by feel.

Snap-on offers two 11 mm inserts for this receiver. The IZ11OE9X12 approaches the nut from the side, so it works on pipe nuts and studs near a wall.
