Description

Quality teams want proof, not just a tight bolt. The Snap-on CTM1000 torque multiplier gives them that proof on joints from 250 to 1,000 ft-lb (340 to 1,350 N·m). It runs on an 18 V battery and drives a 1-inch square. A transducer controls the output, and the tool saves each result with a time and a date.

A data trail for every joint

The CTM1000 shows final torque, or torque and angle, on an OLED screen. Then it stores the value in memory. You can export results as CSV files, or plot live graphs in Snap-on’s EvoLog software. In addition, the tool holds 12 user IDs, so each reading links to the person who ran it. A usage counter also shows how many cycles the tool has run since the last reset.

Targets and work groups

Snap-on lists 20 stand-alone targets plus 20 targets for each work group. So a supervisor can load a whole job into the CTM1000 ahead of time. After that, the key lock keeps casual hands away from the settings.

How it differs from PTM and manual multipliers

A manual MTMB or ATP gearbox records nothing, so the operator must write each value down. Snap-on PTM pneumatic models set output through air pressure and a chart. By contrast, the CTM1000 measures the joint as it turns and stops at the target. Its joint sensing uses dynamic braking, which Snap-on says prevents overshoot from motor inertia.

When the CTM1000 is the right size

Choose this model when most targets fall in the middle of its range, roughly 300 to 900 ft-lb. It also turns fastest in the family, at 32 RPM, while the CTM2000 runs at 13 RPM. For joints above 1,000 ft-lb, however, step up to the CTM2000. Below 250 ft-lb, a 3/4-inch electronic wrench usually works better.
