Description
At 600 ft-lb, a torque wrench stops being a tool you pick up casually. It becomes a long lever that needs planning, footing and two hands. The Snap-on CTECH4Z600A torque wrench sits at the top of the ControlTech Industrial shank family. It covers 30 to 600 ft-lb and takes Z-shank heads.

Size and weight of the Snap-on CTECH4Z600A torque wrench
Snap-on’s catalog lists a length of 44.8 in (1,138 mm) and a weight of 7.6 lb (3.5 kg). That length gives the leverage for big joints. Yet it also needs clear space to swing, so check access before you plan the job.

Choosing Z-shank heads for the CTECH4Z600A
The Z shank measures 0.990 in, the largest in the family. So it needs its own heads, bought apart from the wrench. A 3/4″ ratchet head covers most socket work, while open-end and box-end heads reach nuts that sockets cannot. However, a head may carry a lower rating than the wrench, so confirm the limit for each one.
Also, the built-in calibration factor covers changes in head length. That keeps the math off the operator’s plate.
Safe pulling at high torque
Brace your feet, and pull toward your body rather than push. Then stop when the lights and vibration signal the target. Never use this wrench to break loose rusted bolts, because Snap-on warns against it.

CTECH4Z600A questions
Is 600 ft-lb enough for my flange?
Check the bolt spec first. Above 600 ft-lb (about 813 N·m), you will need a torque multiplier.
Does a Z wrench take X heads?
No. X heads fit a 0.735 in shank, so they will not seat on the 0.990 in Z shank.
Can it record each bolt?
Yes. It stores 1,500 readings, and USB moves them to a PC.
